Hurricane Ike... *Merge*

Still no power at my house and very little water pressure. Damage in my area has been pretty bad. Spent all of Sat and part of sun cutting trees that had fallen in the road ways around my house. Thankfully it was a situation of neighbors helping neighbors

haha! Yeah I'm in FW. My mom has a nice big screen as well as my brother. So my eating and viewing capabilities are in full effect.

So what's Mom cooking for tonight's game? :D

If you need me to check and see if there's power in your area. PM me or post your zip code and I can check the chronicle. They have a database setup for those who are reporting whether they have power. Based on three reports and one fairly close to my street, I'm assuming I have power.

Here's the link: http://www.chron.com/databases/ikepower.html If you want to check yourself.

Hopefully nothing. She's been cooking big meals everyday since me and my friends have been here. I want her to chill out. Every man for himself.

Thank you very much, I was able to look at it and see progress around my zip code. Hopefully I will have power back today. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. ;)

Is there a good way for a house to get crushed by a tree?

Just kidding.

Good to have you back and safe.

My house just missed being hit by a massive tree. 5 more feet and it would have taken out the front section of my house.

Reminds me of that Quote from a Few Good Men.

Jack - "I felt he was in danger"

Tom - "Grave danger?"

Jack - "Is there another kind?"

Ok Guys reporting in I still have no power going on Day 4 in fact 90% of my area still has no power and I am well over 80+ miles from Galveston

i live in the NW side of Houston we where hammered by the high winds lots of power lines; tree damage and stuff like that no flooding

I have a Tree House now I got lucky it could have been way worse on the damage. The important part to me no one was hurt.

Pictures of my tree house

I watched the game last night thank you generator the only game I was able to watch of any type

I feel your pain, going through the same thing. I live in the Spring Branch area and still without power but my folks went out and bought a generator so at least I could enjoy one of my life’s simpler pleasures and watch the Cowboys last night. When I start getting frustrated with being without power I stop and realize how fortunate I am compared to so many who lost so much more

The chronicle has more databases if those affected are interested.

To find open businesses: http://www.chron.com/databases/ikebusinesses-search.html

-----------

My job is still without power, but my house is fine and has power. Had some friends go check on my house and everything looks good. A fence fell between me and my neighbor's house. Friend told me that it was close to going thru my bathroom window, but it's just laying sideways for now.

Since I'm staying in FW, I'm just gonna stay up here til circumstances in Houston improve a bit more.

Wow - sorry to see all that. Friendly advise - go get a tarp and cover those holes up so no more damage occurs, but keep your receipts! Sounds obvious, I know, but some folks don't realize that they have a duty to mitigate damages immediately after the loss and the cost of mitigation is recoverable, but if you do nothing and you could have, ins. might not take care of the additional that occurs!

if anybody is heading south on I-45, my brother just told me he bought gas
in Centerville, no long wait, also said electricity just back on in Madisonville.

Still no lights at home but my girlfriend has lights so I was staying there until last night because I had to report to work this morning.

Just found out about the Cowboys/Eagles score. Hope they play the replay this weekend on NFLN.

Was wondering how you've been Duane. They replayed it yesterday, so I'm sure they'll replay it again at some point before Sunday.

Day 6 with no power at my house. I did get to see the Cowboys game due to my folks having a generator. Dad only bought it because he was not going to miss the game. Well and to be able to keep the refrigerator running :)

I saw that this morning and my area looks like it could be back on between now and monday. Keeping my fingers crossed, only good thing thus far is the temps have been cooler than normal around here.

I'm in 77380 but I've seen crews close by and lights are on not too far from me. I'm going to hope for the best and prepare for after Monday.
