Twitter: Hurts seeing a former Dallas Draft Pick perform like this

It's hard to rue a 5th round pick that bounced around the league before finding a landing spot that fit him. Carolina is his 5th team since getting drafted in 2019. Here is his history.

At first i thought he was talking Nashon Wright but no it’s Mike Jackson as the subject , Wright is just the throw in as a bonus . Yeah I remember them talking up Jackson after drafting him just a numbers game . Like Caelon Carson but in the opposite they’ve hung on to him too long .

Doesn’t hurt. Good for him. Probably got the development he needed elsewhere. It happens. Pickens excelled here. It’s just how it goes.

I’ve seen Jackson play and never saw him perform like that but I’m happy for him. What Joe Jackson up to? He was sticking around this league too last I saw.

And Nashon Wright played well with the Bears as well...

It just takes some players time to figure out how to play in the league or get in a situation that fits their skills best. I think every team has them. Denver would have re-signed Javonte Williams if the Broncos had known he'd perform like he did last year. As is, they didn't offer him enough based on how he'd perform the previous two years. Probably an example closer to Jackson for us was Laurent Robinson. He spent two seasons in Atlanta and two in St. Louis before we got him and he took a starring turn for a year. He returned to what he previously had been the next year with Jacksonville. Of course, even Robinson had been better than what Jackson had shown his first seven years in the league. You don't expect a player to find himself that late into his career if he hasn't already.

Late bloomers like that are really hard to anticipate.

It happens to every team at one point or another.

Or he just had his career year and it's no more than a blip.

It's like saying you're 3rd grade girlfriend turned out to be hot!

Yall know I have no problem ripping Jerry because he fully deserves it, but come on with this one….

In order to have benefitted from this he would have had to been here that whole time since back when Garrett was here. Is that what anyone wanted??

Also I don’t sweat Wrights performance last year. He probably benefited from the scheme. You want that guy on island with a top WR? I don’t.

It’s higher level hypocrisy to want veteran corners signed but also want keep and develop the young guys. Gotta pick a lane.

you cannot rely solely on either; you have to find a balance

Just proves there are some dummies in the Cowboys front office who truly can't see talent or the potential to grow into talent by some players. I hated when both CBs Mike Jackson and Nashon Wright were not given any playing time in Dallas, then cut. Bunch of idiots throwing such talent away. I have a feeling the same thing is going to happen with Brock Hoffman as it happened with Connor Williams.
