I have some decent insight on many of these injuries both orthopedic and neurological due to my job; so I will give my 2 cents on what to expect.

Hurts to what I understand has an SC joint separation, essentially follow the clavicle down to where it meets at the sternum. Numerous ligaments down at this location, so will be hard to guess which one was damaged however this joint is usually harder to injure due to the inherent stability at the sternum. AC joint is much easier to injure due to the opposite, excess mobility in the region.

That being said , SC injuries are more time based to rehab versus exercise performance based --> so although the player and coaches may pretend like he is playing.. fact is he will not be able to speed up a timetable recovery on an injured ligament on the sternum.

This location also doesn't have many muscles to compensate for stabilization, removal of inflammation, so it really is kind of in "no man's land" essentially meaning he has to wait it out and rest without provoking it and causing more irritation at the injured ligament site.

Each time he moves his arm and shoulder blade will most likely cause him pain. To the severity I do not know; however if he does end up playing earlier than 4 weeks; I confidently can say he will not be nearly as effective as a passer and the game plan would be heavy in RB running. I don't think he would RPO and risk further injury to the sternum, especially within the first 2 rounds of playoffs.

So you’re basically saying he’s a sitting duck in the pocket.

He was lights out after the injury in Chicago. I wouldn’t expect two weeks off to make it any worse. It’s a sc sprain. That’s unusual in football but even strained it’s such a strong joint that reinjury is rare. An injection and he is good to go.

Yeah, too bad the Saints don't have that NFC East, "drag someone down with me" mentality.

That is, the Cowboys, Eagles, Giants and Washington have always shared the philosophy that the best regular season victories are the ones that clinch a division title.

The second best kind of victory is when you eliminate a division rival from the playoffs no matter what the record is for that team.

This is the time for the season where even the poor teams are extremely dangerous. Players fighting for their future, coaches fighting for their careers. Both coaches and players realize they stand a better chance with an exciting and unexpected victory over a winning division rival.

Did you know that, during the Cowboys 1-15 season, Washington was the defending SB champion?

Who do you think the Cowboys single victory was against?

The absolute stupidity that exists on this board.

Agreed. Some people reply to comments with blinding stupidity.

Minshew and Hurts have very similar career stats. Hurts has played a dozen or so more games and is a better runner. Minshew had to play in Jacksonville so his stats may be hindered a bit but I see him as a better passer. If I am not playing an RPO scheme then I’d rather have Minshew.

Hurts is an excellent running QB. But ALL running QBs are a ticking time bomb for an injury. The history of this league has shown if you want your QB running the ball more than a few times a game, be prepared to use your backup.

Like Washington was on RGIII and Cousins.

The Niners defense scares me

They have not played many decent offenses.
KC, LAC without their top 2 WR's, Miami which struggles at times against average defenses, TB who have been erratic this year.

Don't eat the SF cheese.

EVERY players career is one good hit from ending. Quite a few have ended on plays that did not seem that bad.
Yeah, but we’re not talking about everybody. We’re talking about the Eagles.
