Hypothetical Question

First of all, tell me what the chances are of acquiring those three guys plus getting Lee, Murray and Church back healthy this year. What? No chance at all? H-m-m, thought so.

It's called a Hypothetical question for a reason.

Hypothetical: highly
conjectural; not well supported by available evidence.

Only marginally more than the chance they have now.

Even with better OL play as of late the offense is still struggling to produce.

Players are dropping balls, Ogletree still pisses Romo off because he doesn't know all of his assignments in his 4th year now.

Ditto for Bryant. The O-line has it's issues and Romo is NOT perfect, but O-Tree and Bryant are just as guilty of killing drives as anyone else. There's a reason O-tree is just seeing his first action as a starter and, to be honest, the dude just doesn't have the smarts to play the position at the NFL level. Dez doesn't really either, IMHO. Dez just has the natural ability to continue to make plays when he's not forced to make on the fly adjustments to his routes. Miles? That dude is just a puzzle. Great play one minute, bone head play the next. Not to mention the fact that there's a risk that the guy will tweak a hamstring every time he goes to the bathroom to wipe.

I see a major overhaul of that position over the next 2-3 years. I don't think Austin will be around after this season (due to his cap number and the production associated with it), nor do I think Dez gets re-signed (just not worth a huge deal, which he will command). O-tree is out in Dallas after this season (four years in the league and he still doesn't get it). These are all just my opinions, of course.

With all that being said, the trenches HAVE to be the focus next off-season.

That's why I included Wes Welker in the Hypothetical.

What percent chance would you give the current Cowboys team of going to the Super Bowl IF:

Everyone was healthy (Lee, Murray, Church, etc..)

AND

they could add the following 3 players:

OC Maurkice Pouncey
RG Jahri Evans
WR Wes Welker

Greatly improved.

I would be rather pumped about the chances. I think those are players that could bring some real talent to the offense.

Still would question where the pressure comes from on defense.

Because, it is all about the lines.

But I've seen worse teams in the last decade win it all.

But if this is going to happen, Jerry needs to make it so immediately at the end of this season.

He may be drafting in the top 7 this season, so the addition of a few good men might be actually attainable.

I think it would put them right in the mix with the top teams in the conference, but I would still have the Packers and Giants ahead of them.

Everybody has a 50% chance of winning the SB once they have a record good enough to make the playoffs.

New England went undefeated with the Best QB, and the most physically gifted WR ever, and the best WR playing at that time. That didn't mean they could just win the SB

Nobody should be given anything higher or lower than 50% once they are in the tournament.

I make a lot of sweeping generalizations, too. Almost half the time I'm wrong, which stinks. But the good news is that almost half the time I'm right, too, so it all works out.

when i say 50 i don't mean literally...i just mean it could go either way.....maybe you could win, maybe not.

Oh no you don't. No spinning your way out of this one. :D
