Im torn between Continuity and a fresh start.......I believe Jerry will stick with Redball, but JUST IN CASE......who'd yall want to take over as HC? Im askin cause Im drawin a blank on names......I used to have names like Bob Stoops, Mike Shanahan, Jon Gruden in my head for our previous HC searches.....but they're all too old and/or irrelevant now.......only names that pop up in my head now are David Shaw from stanford and Josh McDaniels OC for New England...I liked Kevin Sumlin from TX A&M but not so much now with this recent QB debacle.......

I messed up the title lol, its what i get for drunk postin, but cmon, why cant we edit our own thread titles?

Not gonna happen period, stone cold lock.

However, at this point, I'm game for considering options if 2016 isn't the "Season of Redemption".

Who could we get for 2017? Payton might be a far more realistic option at that point.

There would be an "understanding" in the beginning before he realized there was no way Jones could step away from making his destructive decisions that undermined any real success that Payton could build.

Then again, perhaps by that time, Jerry will have already gone to that big owner's box in the sky and its Stephen. I could see him granting full authority to a qualified guy with really impressive credentials.

But what I would really like to see s the rebirth of innovative thought. A candidate that the make the rest of the NFL wish they could have thought of it years from now.

I like the idea of a college Head Coach, not necessarily well know in a big school with max media exposure. I'm thinking of a young guy that has gone somewhere with no real recruiting advantages, and completely turn their program around using overachievers.

One example would be Troy Calhoun of the Air Force Academy. Academy coaches know how to build teams, I. e., Vince Lombardi, Bill Parcells, Greg Popovich.....

Payton, and I get excited again to be a Cowboys fan...there are others that would have a similar reaction, but I am not going to name names since it will NEVER happen...I assume that I won't be excited to be a fan of America's Team for another 5+ years, at a minimum, when Jones decides a retired Tony Romo can be the HC

Draft a QB & a TE in the first 2 rounds.
Romo and Witten retire and become coaches.

Jerry goes on a 3 hour tour, and finds Jerry's Island with his skipper Larry Lacewell.
Stephen turns over the GM role to Troy Aikman. He shown he could choose TE replacements in David LeFluer.

Emmitt RB's coach and turns DMC into a 2500 yards season.
Irvin WR coach. Irvin and Dez often found in debates on the sideline, being overheard on game strategy on national TV, where ESPN continues to say they are selfish. In the meantime Odell Beckham continues fighting and ESPN says he is a passionate player and is good for the game.

Richard Simmons replaces Woicek as conditioning coach, and we go 10 years injury free. Hey, age catches up up at times.

The cheerleaders get a reality show, and grants a final spot on the squad to a lady that may not otherwise have a chance to make it. Hosted by ex reality show celeb that we can't remember the name of...I think he was a WR past winner...lol...

Or just stick with Jason for another year. As no other coaches come to mind. And no to college coaches. They rarely succeed. They won't get another Jimmy from colleges, just like the won't get another Romo as a FA.

Jim Harbaugh.

The guy has done it in college and the NFL.

If he can take a Krapernick led team to the Super Bowl imagine what he could do here.

Jerry can afford it, no matter what it takes.

If you say its not a long term solution, thats fine with me. Win a ring now and worry about the future later. After 20 yrs of futility get me something meaningful NOW, and worry about the "long term" after Harbaugh has worn out his welcome.

Red has worn me out on building for the long term. He aint doing it in Dallas!
