Hypothetically speaking, would you take Cowher as HC if...

I'd take it in a minute. He'd bring instant leadership to this team. The biggest flaw with this team is it's lack of leadership at every level except maybe ownership.

I like Cowher in a detached kind of way.
But his best days are behind him.
Jason's best days are ahead him.

I'm not exactly sure that Garrett has done anything this year to deserve the job that is to be vacated by Wade eventually.

Saying that, No. I wouldn't want Cowher as a head coach. While he is a defense guy, he prefers to have an offensive coordinator that favors the ground game heavily. I think we are taylor made for setting up the run with the pass.

No on Cowher, imo.

Cowher wouldn't last 14 years here in Big D.

Wade has done a pretty good job even though he's not an angry  and hype coach in 1 season and 6 games. They want him gone already. If Cowher were in Big D, we would just have to insert Cowher in place for Wade on the "Fire Wade" threads.

FYI-Cowher will be 52 next year.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bill_Cowher

Really-he'll be 60 in 8 years, really not too long from now. If we want a LONG-term coach here, Cowher wouldn't fit the bill. This IS a young man's game, and I can't see him having the energy to work 24/7 4-5 years from now.

Look at Bill P-his fire all but dwindled during his tenure here b/c of his age.

Absolutely not. Coward is the most overrated coach in NFL history.

That "tough guy" look he always has on his face isn't a tough guy look. It's a whiny, crybaby "I'm gonna throw a temper tantrum" look and I have no idea why people always say he's "tough". He's a freakin' baby.

No thanks.

Is that really any worse than a coach that I am convinced is on the sideline every Sunday thinking "WOW, I have the best seat in the house". I bet the headset is really hooked up to an Ipod.

1992 AFC Central 11-5 lost AFC champion Buffalo 24-3 rd 1

1993 9-7 27-24 OT loss at KC WC

1994 AFC best 12-4 lost SD 17-13 AFCC

1995 SB loss to Dallas

1996 10-6 5th st8 trip playoffs. WC loss

1997 4th st8 AFC Central 11-5 loss Denver AFCC

1998 7-9 losing last five

1999 6-10

2000 9-7 no playoffs for third st8 yr

2001 AFC best 13-3 loss AFCC

2002 WC lost 34-31 OT Tennessee

2003 6-10 record

2004 first AFC team to win 15 games (15-1) lost AFCC

2005 7-5 after 12 games won SB Hawks

2006 win six of their final eight games to post an 8-8

161-99-1 overall 2nd best team history

Not a bad ride for old Chin Quiver. The four AFCC game losses stand out. But so do the two SB trips.

If you said he has trouble winning the big games I could understand though.

Really don't know about him.

I saw someone in another thread mention Jack Del Rio.

Dallas needs a Leader type thats for sure. We dont need an X's and O's coach.

We need leadership.

Im fine with Wade though. Hes winning and thats all I ultimately care about.

He's also going to be 52 next year. Pt being that his best days are behind him(at the least very least, they are CLOSE to being behind him).

Hey, he's been a very good coach all these years-but can you honestly say he'll last 14 years here, much less another 5? Or for that matter, you can pretty much say the same thing wherever he goes next year.

I agree. I think there are many fine coaches out there however I don't see any coach as a cure all. I think players still have to play and execute coach can't do that for them. We have a very good O-line coach yet his unit did a poor job last week, so do we just fire him? I don't think so. Right now Dallas has hit a big bump in the road with a injuries and a player suspention and how Phillips deals with all of this should say alot about his ability as a HC. I'm betting on Wade to get it done

We're about to see how his team responds to adversity.

If we are going to bash him for his losses than you gotta give him credit when they win.

I will never be a part of any movement to bring Cowher here. Over rated head coach who got lucky one year compaired to the amount of times his better teams have chocked in the playoffs. He is a characature of himself.

I agree. He has his work cut out for him with guys like Romo, Newman, McBriar and Felix Jones out of the line up as well as dealing with the media circus of Pacman being suspended and Dallas having to start a rookie in his place. If Wade can get this team through this then I would hope some would re-evaluate Wade's ability as a HC because frankly that is a lot for any HC to overcome

I think, in the first place, boy genius should simply remain a boy until he gets better at adjustments...Perhaps then can he be considered a genius
