Hypothetically we resign Dak, what's Lance's next move?

I here hereby predict that Trance will be given the job of QB2 based on his salary and to protect GM Jethro's EGO. Rush will not be traded in fear of Dak getting hurt.
Much depends upon the performances of Trey Lance regarding Rush's future. If Lance fails, Rush benefits. but if Lance is successful, he's gone.

Well, you are probably right, you like rolling with the obvious odds.
If you never take a chance, you just remain mediocre.
I understand people with your opinion, they are happy with stats and season records, but there is still a faction of the fan base that remember how Championships were once won and how Lombardi's were once hosted.
We took a chance trading for Lance but it won’t lead to our next championship. I’m not happy with stats and regular season records but you need a productive QB that can win during the regular season to make the playoffs.

Im just asking what better option than Lance for that price was available, this does not have to turn into some Dak vs Lance debate, that was never my intention, my question to the entire forum is what better option to bring in any better potential talent was available for that price?
Why is this such a polarizing question?

No team is giving up anything for him. He’s a free agent in ten months. Trey Lance is as useless as breasts on a fish.
I think that will depend quite a bit on what Dallas does between now and then. If Dallas decides they want him, they have options.

There wasn’t a better option available. I have no problem taking a chance on Lance but I don’t see him panning out. The only way we’ll find a better option than Dak is in the draft and that won’t be easy.

I respect your opinion, I'm just at least waiting until some TC/PS before I can even make an honest evaluation, way too early in the game for me my friend.
Having options is always a luxury and hopefully never a burden.

With me I look at history and the odds. Steve Young is the only QB I can think of that went bust with their first NFL team and went to become a great QB that won a SB. Favre never got a chance in Atlanta and San Diego allowed Brees to walk because of shoulder surgery and they invested a top 5 pick on Rivers.

No you didnt you said that Romo had had back issues and retired and then Dak took over,,,
Not the way it went down.
Go back an re-read it. I never said anything about Dak.

I said he had back issues and retired.

Don't have to, I remember everything that I read of relevance, you could have edited probably did, but I know what I see and read... do not need to go back.

Give me a better option that's all I'm asking for but nobody seems to want to come up with one.

Can’t come up with a better option. Despite the hate Dak receives from his own fan base he’s one of the best QBs in the league. It’s going to be very difficult to improve on him.

We resign Dak during Camp or during the season, what is Trey Lance's thoughts or his next move????

1) He feels mislead and asks for a trade
2) He sucks it up and remains the backup and leaves the following season
3) He knows it was coming all the way long, but kept working hard on his craft to get better

I really need to sign up so I can do Poll topics!!!
he goes to a QB needy team. gets to start by default. struggles. and couple of years later, moves again. and then again. he will remain a fringe starter in this league and eventually a back up.

See, I wasn't even talking about Dak, I was talking about finding anyone better available than Lance as QB2 material, but you immediately jump to the thought that I was even inferring a Dak vs Lance debate,,, you guys are crazy. lol

I will at least play with those odds.

Thought you were talking about Dak so chill. There wasn’t a better option available than Lance. We’ve gone long enough on this.
