I’m not a believer that Pollard is an every down back

Hes wonderful to have but he’s going to get dinged up eventually if we don’t have another complimentary piece. Don’t forget he’s also coming back from a big injury and blocking is not his forte.

While I do agree with Zekes release, we need to invest in an early pick in this years draft. I want a physical runner that punishes defenses like early Zeke, Barber, and Murray. We need some toughness to this team. While I’m sad about Zekes release, the future also excites me
Is Saquon an every down back? How many games has he missed in the last few years?
How bout Dalvin Cooke. How many games has he missed?
McCaffrey?
Hall from Jets?
Henry?

Shall I go on?

Love me some Pollard.

However, if given full time carries, he'll most likely be ineffective by season's end. Or hurt.

Who is the Chiefs every down back? Didn't KC win it all ? I think the idea should be to find COMPLETE backs. Speed, power, receiving skills etc..Then go out and get 3 of them. That way the RBs can platoon and no matter who is in the game, the offense can function.
anytime someone brings up the team with Patrick Mahomes under center to use as some comparison.... I just chuckle. He covers up for a lot of deficiencies.

I used to question Pollard being the primary back, but every year he proves me wrong. Despite his size, he can also bang with defenders. Situationally, the guys numbers are crazy good in the 4th quarter, though thus may be obfuscated by some bigger runs in blowouts. But his averages in tight games in the 4th, when within 7 or really good.

He’s only rarely had games when he’s carried above 20 times, but which RB does. If his numbers lie below 20, he has shown as far as the lifespan of RBs go, he can definitely carry the load.

One thing is pretty clear though to me is, his impact is felt on faster turf, not really grass.
IM guessing Pollard will see between 17-22 touches per game, including dump offs. Which is a good number IMO. He has already showed he can run between the tackles... those that said he cant are sadly mistaken. Go watch the Chargers game last year for proof.

How in the world did you miss that KC has the best QB in the game? I mean, really, how did you pick them for a comparison?

When you have a top 3 QB, everything changes. Needs are different, schemes are different, just everything is different.

No way should any team waste an early draft pick on a running back in today's NFL anymore, and this year's draft is loaded with running backs, Pollard had a fracture, that's nothing like a ligament tear, people are making to much out of a fracture, it's a minor injury, Pollard is already ahead of schedule...Zeke was dinged up with something for the last four years, so I'm not buying this nonsense that he can't carry the load, he hits the hole so much faster than Zeke did and when you're through the hole, you're getting tackled by linebackers and safeties, not Defensive linemen..

Now with regards to the franchise tag, I'd prefer him at a cheaper rate but I'm not interested in a long term deal for Pollard or any running back...Dallas did the right thing last year by franchising Shultz and not signing him to a long term deal....either sign Pollard to a two year deal or let him play under the franchise tag this year and move on.....

So were going to go with Pollard, Davis and a rookie draft pick this season and I'm fine with that!

Mahomes is the go to around here if you want to compare any aspect of your football team!

Why do you think they need to invest an early pick? If there's one position on the field where rookies routinely can step in and be effective, and where late-round rookies routinely provide value, it's RB.

3 down backs don’t exist. You need 3 solid options at RB. The third string guy should be able to play in a pinch and mainly be a special teams guy.

You’re definitely going to want special teamers. The 3 down back makes no sense these days. In the event of an injury or extended absence you paint yourself into a corner. And then every few years you’re searching to replace him.

Agree, good thing is RB's top 10 draft board is pretty stacked this year. We need a quality all around back who can pass block and catch. IMO we prioritize and pick up a quality RB in the second round.

If he us a part time back.....he shouldn't be getting 11 million
while i understand the thought process. If he is used similarly to last year Im ok with him and his 11 mil its the price of doing business. hell be gone in 2024 if the cowboys cant come to a long term deal and especially if they get lucky and robinson is there. dalton shultz wasnt in on every play and they used the tag on him. same with CeeDee once they pay him.

if they give Pollard more plays Im ok with that as well. people underestimate just how tough he is

This isn't new......if TPollard was an every down back......Zeke would have been able to sit and mend a bad knee.......2 seasons ago. Let that sink in.
This is pretty true. I really wish cowboys would have Gotten Ducks in a row before yesterday and letting Zeke go. because in FA we are left with scraps now and your forced to take a RB early now. Pollard will not be ready before probably the middle of the season and you cannot go with just a Rookie unless your getting a Robinson or a Gibbs.

"Every down backs" are super rare nowadays. Even if he could handle it, doesn't mean he should. We've seen how great he is in a tandem, and should keep it that way for sure!

Prolly, but tough guys can get hurt from overuse also.

Give me the Pollard and Gibbs combo please. I want speed and agility being interchangeable regardless who is in the backfield.
