I actually think the OL is fine for the future!

It's pointed in the right direction, we just don't know how they would play as full-time starters, but we need to find out first!
Certainly pointed in the right direction. It's going to be interesting down the stretch.

Younger players are going to want to prove they belong. I am also interested to see how Kneeland comes back from injury on the other side.

Yesterday was very encouraging, although it was against a very weak front, but they still played well with a bunch of backups. At one point, they didn't give up a single pressure!

-Hoffman plays with an edge. Something this line lacks. He can play either Guard or Center.
-Every Richards is in the game, you never here anything about him, which is a good thing for a young lineman. He can play all positions, outside of Center.
-Bass might be a better run blocker then pass protector, but he won't be a liability, either.
-We know Tyler Smith is our best lineman on the team and can play anywhere on the left side.
-Guyton has struggled throughout his rookie season, play has been better, but has to play more clean, has hurt the team with so many penalties.
-Nathan Thomas is a big G/T in their pipeline to develop.

Unless a blinking light falls in their lap, no need to force a pick for this positional group.

Also, a new OL coach with a more modern scheme will help.
it's been one game for the first three bullet points on this list. Im not going to stop trying to improve talent on the roster because a couple of JAGs impressed in one game. Even if they keep it up through the end of the season, I still want to spend a high draft pick on a tackle because at least one of these guys is gonna turn back into a pumpkin or get hurt.

Not not just one game, it's when they have played. You don't need 5 1st rd picks on your OL.

nice to have them though. You do remember when we had Smith and Fredbeard and Martin all at the same time? just having three of them gave us a dominant O line.
You are acting like you can pick up great O line players in the sixth rd or UDFA. Does not happen
the number of Quality Starters you get after the fourth rd is like 1%

Dallas invested in the OL rebuild, and have solid pieces to work with. Instead, this draft should be about the DT position and the RB.

No you don't, but right now we have one good OL, 1 absolute turd, and 3 dudes who might develop. We need more than just that, I don't like those odds.

All sign are pointing towards Guyton and Beebe being quality starters for you next year.

I’m all for adding another OLmen if it’s clear cut BPA but the young guys are showing promise. Bass and Hoffman included.

Offensive weapons and defense are muncher higher priority IMO.

2 first rd picks is major capital to the positional group. Guyton needs to develop but he has elite traits. Rest of the OL needs to be solid starters who work well as a group. Upgrading the scheme might be more important then personnel next season

the only reason I would look at serious cap money or draft capital in the O line this coming year is if the young guys show they are not the future
and that has not been determined

I think we all agree have to see how these prospects perform first. Perhaps add a low cost veteran for the group as a fa for insurance. In my opinion, biggest upgrade should be upgrading to more of a modern scheme.

I totally agree with this. All I see is Richards being very solid. Not sure why he is never mentioned in the mix. Guyton needs to play RT. That’s his only shot. He absolutely can’t play LT. Smith is a freak that can play anywhere. He is an amazing G but I would permanently put him at LT. Bebe is still going to be good. I think they need to draft another interior guy in the 4/5 round and I think they are good to go.

The DL and offensive team speed is what they must focus on.

Remember they also have Nathan Thomas who projects to be a G/T. Not ready to give up on Guyton playing LT, his play has gotten better, where his penalties are the issue.

Tyler Smith had problems his first year with penalties as well.
It is insane to move someone who is all pro to another position

Im very encouraged about the OL , need a new position coach . It’s the DL and LB positions that need attention and a RB to complement add to Dowdle .
