Absolutely. And most of us want to keep Zeke.I think you are trying to say that one player doesn't make a difference. Yes they do. We saw that with Amari Cooper. Anytime you have a star player missing especially a top 5 at their position type of player it's going to hurt when they are gone and you will reap the rewards when they are there. Trying to make a point that you don't have to have the leagues leading rusher to win the superbowl is mute because we area running team. That's how WE are built. If we get to the superbowl it will be because we ran the ball very well coupled with our defense who has gotten better than it has not just in the last 3 years the last 10 years. Zeke has don't some air headed things but one thing is for sure he is a great player and his teammates love him.
look at the contracts waiting to be negotiated.
do u really want to encourage cowboy players to hold out a year or 2 years early.
do you want lve to hold until at the end of the 2020 season?
there are consequences for being a weak negotiator.
you are setting a precedent within the team.
elliott needs to be punished for the behavior.
rescind the top-2 offer that was far too high.
force him to play for the rookie contract that he signed.
He couldn't care less what you and others think about him. Fans being bent out of shape, are the same individuals that would urinate on themselves for an autograph or selfie.
Why do you keep using the word punish? Jerry is not the law, nor his father. Zeke will be paid.
Right, so QB and WR are even more important than even the last time the Giants won.latest installment of the roughing the passer rule in 2018. Consequences:
https://www.sbnation.com/nfl/2018/9...-the-passer-penalty-explanation-clay-matthews
- It’s a difficult penalty for players to avoid, regardless of intent:The goal of a pass rusher is to get to a quarterback as fast as possible and bring them down, so landing on them is often — if not usually — more of an inevitability than an intentional act to injure. Rolling off of the quarterback in mid-air can be impossible.
- Sacking quarterbacks is becoming extremely difficult: Making any contact with a quarterback’s helmet is a penalty and hitting them below the waist is a penalty. Now it’s difficult for pass rushers to hit a quarterback in the midsection without landing on them and earning a penalty.
helpless receiver rule also in 2018:
https://operations.nfl.com/the-rules/nfl-video-rulebook/defenseless-player/
- A receiver attempting to catch a pass who has not had time to clearly become a runner. If the player is capable of avoiding or warding off the impending contact of an opponent, he is no longer a defenseless player
- The intended receiver of a pass in the action during and immediately following an interception or potential interception. If the player is capable of avoiding or warding off the impending contact of an opponent, he is no longer a defenseless player.
Note: Violations of this provision will be enforced after the interception, and the intercepting team will maintain possession
Hence why Jerry offered Zeke the 2nd highest RB contract. Maybe Zeke should sign that? The goal posts keep moving in these discussions. I did not mention having a leading rusher at all. A RB is just as important as any other position on the field, if you want to win.
how is bell relevant.
how is zeke's security relevant.
i only care about the cowboys.
they have all the leverage.
it is time to use that leverage.
get a rb to go with pollard and let zeke think about his game checks every week.
But no more negative waves! We got this with or without Zeke.zeke would have a couple weeks to shake off the rust.
this team is not going anywhere if dak and the wrs dont click without zeke

Lets say we sign Zeke to a new 5 year contract...…...2 or 3 years from now, Barkley gets a new market setting contract for a RB, but Zeke still leads the league in rushing every season.
Is Zeke going to say, "that's not fair, I had more yards rushing than Barkley so I need to make more than him" so Zeke holds out again before his contract is up demanding "renegotiation".
Whats to keep Zeke from doing this?
Serious Question.
Projecting much?
he is on his rookie contract that has 2 years remaining.Bell is relevant because his dual role on offense. You cannot, as a fan, expect Zeke to perform the tasks without proper compensation.
jerry has the leverage.
a party with superior leverage can punish the party with inferior position.
punishment strategies are an accepted economics concept.
Nothing would keep him from doing it. Not a good reason not to sign Zeke now though. Cross that bridge if it ever comes.Lets say we sign Zeke to a new 5 year contract...…...2 or 3 years from now, Barkley gets a new market setting contract for a RB, but Zeke still leads the league in rushing every season.

It seems like you and a select few others, are being punished. It hurts to see this young American RB, in negotiations with your hero.

jerry needs to punish him by enforcing that contract.
use the leverage he has and zeke can lose 2/3 of his 2019 salary by holding out.
and if he pouts after returning, assess the 1m of fines or so.
