When I heard JG was probably returning, I was ready to give up on the Cowboys ever being what I hope they will be - champions. I have a LOT of reservations about his abilities as HC, but I'm going to give him one more year. Why? Because the team fought a good fight last night. They never gave up, and almost pulled off a big upset. The guys didn't quit, and therefore I won't quit on them either. I'm proud of the way they played tough, fighting for extra yards, making a great goalline stand, etc. We have no reason to hang our heads down. We gave it our best shot. Now I can only hope the Egirls get annihilated by the Saints...

Oh God, why is it such a big deal that a team playing at home in a win or go home game, decided to play hard? What is so special about that? I keep hearing this repeated on the radio today.

You want to see something impressive? Chiefs have NOTHING to play for, they bench 19 of 21 starters, yet still take the Chargers to the brink on the road. Now THAT is impressive. Nothing about last night's effort was out of ordinary.

What do you mean by "almost gave up on the team" exactly?

Kinda vague

It doesn't matter how many days are spent studying for a test or working on the field. If you fail, you fail and obviously enough preparation was not done.

I will never give up either and can only hope one day a significant change will be made. On the bright side, Garrett only has one year left and another 8-8 will not get him an extension.

The defense played their butts off and can not be blamed last night, that was all on the offense and their coaching.

Everybody has that one team they really don't want to see win it all. I know the Eagles are a division opponent, but I have to listen to Saints fans gloat all day, every day of the year. I can't wait for them to lose; the sooner the better.

No kidding. Garrett got players to do what they are paid to do. Congrats.

I understand your point and I agree w/ it, but the Chiefs don't have Jerry Jones running things. There was a chat w/ Rick Gosselin posted in the DMN a couple of days ago, and he was knowing it out of the park over and over on the mistakes Jerry has been making in running this team. See if you can find it...

I would feel a lot better about Garrett, despite another 8-8, if his clock management issues were a thing of the past. But we saw them AGAIN this season. He didn't learn from the mistakes of past seasons. I think Garrett is a good motivator and has a good eye for talent. We have had some good drafts under him, and this team has played hard. But the clock management issue is just a deal breaker for me. I would rather see him gone.

It's not. But they played way better than most expected and that is impressive. Holloman was playing the Mike because they had no one else to play due to injuries. He had never ever played the Mike and was a safety/spur. They were scoring roughly 30 a game. I get the point about the effort but I don't discount it either. They not only fought the entire game but came close to beating them.

It is this type of attitude from fans that Jerry is counting on to continue this road to nowhere
