I had gotten up to almost 250 lbs back in January. So I decided to try to lose some wight. I don't have a lot of time to exercise like I wanted so I cut my calorie intake down to 2,000 calories per day. I am also restricting my sodium to under 2,000 mg per day.

With that said, My weight in 12th grade, 27 years ago was 220 lbs. Today I am at 219. First time since then.

I want to lose the other 19 lbs by the end of June and have decided to add three days of exercise per week. Gonna do the tread mill thing and see how that goes. My gym just got extended hours so now I should be able to do it.

I know this doesn't effect anyone else but I wanted to brag on myself for this. I'm really jazzed about it.
Grats bro, make sure its fat your losing keep your protein intake high.

Any workout that involves grabbing one's ankles isn't for me.

Seriously though, what's the Bob Sacamano workout.

Push ups. Bench press. Eat less.

Good for you. Nothing wrong with that type of bragging.

Careful when you start the treadmill though, you will probably find that you will be hungrier due to the extra calories you're burning. Its ok if you replenish with good food though. Good luck.

Awesome! Congrats!

However, I call BS on one thing... A guy with 20,184 posts is not allowed to say he doesn't have time to exercise. ;)

:lmao2:

Touche!

Congrats man.

I am at 260 right now and ready to lose some weight. what did you eat to cut down your calorie intake to under 2,000 a day?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks

One thing I did was cut down on the sweets. I didn't stop all together but started to limit them. I count calories religiously and make certain that every weekday I am below 2000. On weekend I don't count them as much because I pretty much know what they are but I don't freak out if I go over by 100 calories.

Also I cut back on sodium.

I don't know if you guys are ubertall but damn some of you weigh a lot. I thought I was fat at 194 so I dropped down to 183 and am pretty happy about it.

I do the treadmill at about 13% grade and 4.5 speed 2x a week, skate with my son once or twice a week.

I would probably like to go to 175 but that is probably not possible without severely reducing food intake.

I'm 42R suit, 16.5 neck for dress shirts, 34 waist for most pants/shorts although a pair of Hollister shorts I have are a 33 waist.

Similar build. I'm about 6" 197lbs 34 waist and 44R / 16.5 neck. I run 3 times a week at 4.7mph at a 5% for 2 miles (takes about 30 minutes) and lift 3 times a week with 1 day off. Well one day off is my goal, but I usually end up with two days off due some part of family life getting in the way at least once a week.

I seriously doubt I could get into the 170s anymore. (well I could, just don't want too) I have a broad frame and like to carry enough muscle to fill it out. I hope to get down into the upper 180s though.

I'm some where between 5'10 and 6'2 depending on which convenience store I'm walking out of. :D

Good job CC!

I'll bet you are feeling better also.

I was 168 when I gratuated high school.

I'm about 179 now, 14 years later.

Although I'm destined to be a fat old man, based on my diet, I've been blessed with a great metabolism that allows me to eat whatever I want and not gain weight.

Congrats on the weight loss. I hope you did not turn into some salad eating hippie or something.:p: ;)

On a side note, if you want to lose a few more pounds, just go get a case of dysentery...that will make you lose a few pounds the hard way.:D

I really do. It's amazing what dropping a few pounds will do. Ok, more than a few, but still.

Funny think is, I have eaten more salads than usual and I am getting a taste for them. Used to not like them at all.

And thanks for the tip on the dysentery. I think I'll pass.

Well I had a plan.

See with you eating more salads and if you got dysentery...I could nickname you Salad Shooter. :p: ;)

A salad is something to keep my attention until the real food comes :laugh2:

:laugh2: My wife laughs at me if we go somewhere and I get the salad bar.

I get coleslaw, macaroni salad and a bunch of toppings on it and call it a salad.

Heck with all of that bland lettuce and cucumber crap.:laugh2:
