Yeah, we're giving up 181.7 yards per game passing through 3 preseason games... 6.3 yards per attempt... that's just awful...
Last night, they allowed 54.3 per cent completions, and 5.6 yards per attempt... to anybody who knows anything about football, that's some pretty fair pass defense... no team in the NFL allowed that low a completion percentage last season, though the Steelers were close at 54.5 per cent... the Steelers were the only team who came close to a 5.6 YPA average too, coming in at 5.7...
And of course, no small chunk of that yardage is being accomplished against our linebackers, not our secondary... then there's the matter of our best cover guy not playing most of the preseason, but of course having a Terence Newman back wouldn't help that "sucky" secondary...
I repeat yet again, games like this help us identify which posters really don't understand that game of football... apparently, you're one of them...
Let me put it to you real simply-- any time you have an opponent that throws the ball 35 times, and you hold them under 200 yards passing, you're playing some pretty good pass D... in particularly, when you get no sacks on the opposing QBs, and put up such numbers, your secondary is doing their job...
Maybe we should take up a collection so that some of our football-challenged brethren can go out an buy themselves a freakin' CLUE...
