Our secondary sucks!

Yeah, we're giving up 181.7 yards per game passing through 3 preseason games... 6.3 yards per attempt... that's just awful...

Last night, they allowed 54.3 per cent completions, and 5.6 yards per attempt... to anybody who knows anything about football, that's some pretty fair pass defense... no team in the NFL allowed that low a completion percentage last season, though the Steelers were close at 54.5 per cent... the Steelers were the only team who came close to a 5.6 YPA average too, coming in at 5.7...

And of course, no small chunk of that yardage is being accomplished against our linebackers, not our secondary... then there's the matter of our best cover guy not playing most of the preseason, but of course having a Terence Newman back wouldn't help that "sucky" secondary...

I repeat yet again, games like this help us identify which posters really don't understand that game of football... apparently, you're one of them...

Let me put it to you real simply-- any time you have an opponent that throws the ball 35 times, and you hold them under 200 yards passing, you're playing some pretty good pass D... in particularly, when you get no sacks on the opposing QBs, and put up such numbers, your secondary is doing their job...

Maybe we should take up a collection so that some of our football-challenged brethren can go out an buy themselves a freakin' CLUE...

Say whatever you want about me. i ain shutting up.

My late Dad described that snydrome as Verbal Diarrhea, and insisted it was the result of constipation of the brain...

The older I get, the more I realize how perceptive that man was... :D

Why is it that it always seems that the ones with the least to say talk the most?? And quite often, they're not even capable of expressing a clear thought in a coherent sentence...

LOL. Our offense manhandled and dominated. the defense was put in tight spots and reacted well.

I just got home. I cant believe people are complaining after that offensive performance in the first half.

You have to be a complete tool to be upset tonight.

At halftime, we had 266 yards of total offense, the Toxins had 129... we were up 20-10, and it should have been 27-10...

Just the facts... the Chicken Littles can come out from under their concrete umbrellas...

Can you turn over? We've all had you in this position too much.

No matter what position, there's nothing worse than being 10th in line for a gang bang...

Or so I've heard... :D

That is sick. I thought your bud sacamano was sick but you really qualify as a jerk for that.
You could not say that at work or in a school or in a store, yet you choose to say something that stupid here.

sigh

This site is not work, or school, or a store... this site is more akin to your corner pub...

Guess you don't hang out in many such establishments... another poster made a reference to having the troll change positions because so many of us had a turn at him, it brought to mind the gang bang analogy... I responded in that spirit...

However, I am desperately sorry for having offended your delicate sensibilities, Nancy... sometimes us smarta$$es cross over the line into bad taste...

Depends upon where you work, or what kind of store you're shopping in.

Newman will help in the secondary. What worries me is the pass rush being a tenth of a second too late all the time.

Hopefully, 'ol clumsy footed Carpenter won't be starting. Zack Thomas makes up that split second.

Speaking of Zack, this guy is going to THRIVE in the 3-4 because it fits his style better. Zack Thomas reminds me of no other linebacker, which is why a guy his size and his age will be able to thrive. He's great to have in the middle because of his lateral movement, ability to shed blocks and quickly gets to the tackles.

Carpenter is lucky if can do 2 of 3 of those things half the time because his feet are so clumsy. Hence why I'm seeing him as sort of a lost toddler out there, too.

He's just a step behind the NFL level, if you will.
