I am over this defense and why I go offense in draft

With 3 defensive starters suspended for drug offense in past few years I am now switching my thoughts on this draft. I see two scenarios I would be in favor of now:

1. Draft Elliot #4 and if Lynch starts sliding past 15 then trade back up for him. Lynch upside is as good as Wentz and Eagles basically gave up 7 players to get him.

2. Draft Elliot #4 and Will Fuller ("vertical daddy") in 2nd round. Teams would have to commit a safety to account for Fuller big play ability and this would open up things for Elliot to be boss.

I can take some shots on defense with those extra compensatory picks along with middle round picks but it's time for offense to be the apple in our eye.

I agree, lad.
Look, the defense is so horribly undermanned and with so little talent that drafting a DE high would be meaningless.
I say go offense then look to improve the D with FA, the middle rounds of this draft and then the offseason and next year's draft.
At some point we need to get the defense into a Super Bowl ready one and we are almost there, save a blue-chip RB and a true complementary WR for Dez.
First things first and improve what needs only 2 players to make a run at the Super Bowl. Not likely with our poor D but there is such as thing as keeping the opposing offense off the field to compensate with this sorry mess of a defense.

Also, when we go looking for D talent, let's not take chances with knuckleheads who might be doing muggles, meth or large amounts of opiates in San Francisco drug dens.

You get to 35 ppg and you can do a lot. U still need pass rush and defense.

The defense is the reason we're not winning more games under Romo. We need to bolster the defense. Grab a RB in the 3rd if there's good value there. Or don't.

players you draft on defense this year will not help you this year. Maybe next year but not this year. a bunch of rookies are not going to take you in the playoffs or make you much more competitive I say draft the running back build the offense.

The draft is not about one year. There are a handful of rb's in this draft that can help this team. I like Zeke but drafting a RB at the top of the first round when you defense was so bad last year is just not a smart move. Rather have a defensive player and I personally like booker but there are a few who can help later. We seen before he was injured last year how Dunbar could generate some offense so that type of back would be nice too

  • league's best offense
  • average-at-best defense
Going back 50 years, how many Super Bowls have been won with this formula?
