I am really glad to see Hill’s roster spot finally open up

Yet another second round bust. Can’t think of a premium round we’ve missed on more in the past couple of decades than round two.

I'm more furious now at Dan Quinn for having given the green light to cut 6'5", 330 pound rookie John Ridgeway who could have been kept and molded for a much smaller and way overdrafted Trysten "babycakes" Hill. WTH was Dan Quinn thinking? His decisions just left a bigger hole at DT during the midst of having 3 games in a row where our D repeatedly has been getting run on right up the middle.

They hated Hill but chose him over Ridgeway. Should tell you something.

It seems pretty clear to me that they were trying to move Hill or Gallimore. When they couldn't, they cut the one that Quinn wasn't as invested in.
Dan Quinn is starting to show why he was fired from Atlanta.

McCarthy didn't draft hill. Red and Jerry did. Maybe that plays into why he was cut, I don't know. We run a different defense, scheme wise, now.

Okay Ronnie, I'll go figure.

He was in street clothes because he couldn't cut the mustard, They kept him in street clothes because they didn't want to have him play, and maybe get hurt. Because he could have been a chip in a trade, however small that might be.

He was not the answer to the problem.

How'd I do, my friend?

Whatever their reasoning they got run off the field on Sunday.. I just hope the kid figures it all out before his window of opportunity closes. He's got talent.. but for whatever reason he can't harness it into production. Potential can be a heavy burden..

Dude didn't have the mindset for defense,,, they should have switched him over to the OL somewhere,,, like center! Still PO'd about the genius OL coach shipping off a perfectly viable OL to Miami without even considering him at center.
I’m not a fan of our OL coach either.

All the moves being made by teams striving to improve their rosters is mind-blowing when compared to Jerry and Stephen sitting all content with their thumbs up their butts doing nothing. Jerry said not all that long ago that his goal is to remain relevant and interesting, and he's certainly doing just that. Some teams want to compete for championships, Jerry doesn't.
Or maybe the team believes what they will get more out of the drafts picks in the spring during the draft than the value of those picks used in a trade.

I never saw much from the kid. Maybe the light will come on for him at some point, but he was a “bust” for the Cowboys. I don’t fault the player as much as I fault Marinelli. Piss poor coaching and piss poor input into drafting by Marinelli.

This team just gave up the most rushing yards that it has surrendered in nearly three years and decided that waiving the guy who watched it in street clothes and had no part in it was a good scapegoat.. Go figure.
Was there a reason he had no part in it? Bad enough the guys that DID have a part in it failed. I f you can't even crack into the group that had a part in it and failed...might be bad.

Having said THAT...I have ZERO confidence the execs, coaches, doctors, staff and jock washers manage our team, our plays, our players adeptly/

Allow me to pose this.

What do teams normally do when they are down by two touchdowns or more? What happens to their game plan?

It depends on when in the game this happens. For instance Team A allows a kick-off return for a TD. Then the RB of Team A fumbles on the first offensive play. It is picked up and run back for another touchdown. There is still plenty of time to come back. Especially if Team A is considered the stronger team.

But as the game progresses, Team A will begin throwing the ball more and more to make up the deficit. Some fans call this garbage time for the QB on Team A. But the fact is Team B will begin playing the pass almost exclusively. This is a major reason why I think the garbage time moniker is erroneous. Because Team A's QB is throwing into a defense prepared for the pass.

But what did the Bears do? They ran the ball. Quinn was preparing for the pass, but the Bears ran.

I discount the hand wringing going on about the yardage Dallas gave up. That is opinion and not fact. So we will see.

But in any event, Hill was not the answer. To complain about the Jones' sitting on their hands is a totally separate issue. The two are not really related in this situation.

But you could very well be right, Ronnie. Lord knows my history on this site suggests me and right aren't even passing acquaintances, at times.

Right? They only gave him 3 and a half years.

LOL.. they should of schemed to let him make like 10 good plays against Chicago and then traded him. Instead they made him a ghost and expected a 3rd round pick and a player for him.

That's a cheap shot. Quinn's defense is why we are 6 and 2. Hill had a half sack in his entire career. Blame the GM for a crap pick, not the guy who wasn't here who has this defense playing good ball.
Yeah Quinn is about the last person to take blame here. And even if it was his decision you either trust him or you don't. Stop picking and choosing when you aren't happy with him cause this defense is awesome.

Same people pissed this off-season and not believing we picked up Fowler and we're gonna start dorance and that we lost Gregory. How'd that go again?

I think the fact that he couldn't get active when we knew we were facing the best rush offense in the NFL explains why he was cut.

He kinda stunk.
