I hope there is offset language in Hill’s contract with the Cowboys.

Many of us were very unhappy the day we selected him. His best year in college was his freshman year and was never a good college player. He was a pure measurables pick. We liked his size and he could run between cones more quickly than other dudes his size, but he was never a good football player. Baffling pick.

I'm still trying to make sense of this move in the mid-season. I was surprised when Hill made the 53 and even more surprised they decided to retain Hill over Ridgeway.
This was a major point of contention for me at the time as well.

Total mismanagement imo.

Yet another second round bust. Can’t think of a premium round we’ve missed on more in the past couple of decades than round two.
If McGovern, Gallimore, Wright and Tolbert qualify as examples, I’ll offer up the third round as well.

I’ll give the benefit of doubt to OO and Golston for now.

This from a team that thinks they can use only the draft to improve.

Not like I’m complaining at 6-2, but it’s beyond clear that these two are in over their heads as far as putting this team over the top….and that is in no way a reference to yesterday.

Gaping holes need to be addressed in free agency, not the draft.

Whatever their reasoning they got run off the field on Sunday.. I just hope the kid figures it all out before his window of opportunity closes. He's got talent.. but for whatever reason he can't harness it into production. Potential can be a heavy burden..
I think he is a quick tackle that should be played at the 3 technique. He is not all pro, but he may suprise us and end up being a serviceable player elsewhere.

Whose fault is that? Quinn is our D-Coordinator. All D players drafted the past 2 years, along with unrestricted free agents signed, along with any D player free agency pickups have been his decisions. HE allowed for John Ridgeway to be cut while keeping Trysten Hill, who has now been cut. How are these moves not Dan Quinn's responsibility?

Huh?

Quinn has been our DC for two years. The Cowboys have half assed the DT position for nearly a decade or longer. This isn't really a Quinn problem, it's a front office problem where they clearly don't value the DT position like they do others.

You think Dan Quinn has control over who we pick, who we make active, who we cut? LOL.

This is where you show your ignorance. Heck, there is even tape where Quinn said he told McCarthy and Jerry that he wanted Sam Williams! Sure enough, Sam Williams was drafted by the Cowboys!!! Yet, you still doubt? Foolish talk.

LOL the ignorance is all on your side. Coaches give input but they don't make the final call. Again, a simple look at history would show how silly you are. The Cowboys have poured little to no top resources into the DT position going back to the start of the Garrett era. That's just a fact. The DT situation is an organizational problem, not just a Quinn problem.

You really think this is how the draft goes? Quinn tells Jerry who to pick and Jerry just does it? I mean what happens if there there is a player available at one of our picks that Moore really wants too? Does Jerry get out a quarter and flip it to decide if he should pick the offensive player Moore wants or the defensive player Quinn wants?

Clearly, you have no idea how it works! You'd better believe Jerry listens to the input from his coaches as to who they would like (and why) if available during each round. You're delusional believing Jerry decides everything on his own .
