I am really glad to see Hill’s roster spot finally open up

Well, as expected....the sad ending of the Trysten experiment has arrived, crashed and burned in flames with no other excuses available. Couldn't even give him away. Another 2nd rounder bites the dust. Sometimes the inevitable is hard to accept.

I'm more furious now at Dan Quinn for having given the green light to cut 6'5", 330 pound rookie John Ridgeway who could have been kept and molded for a much smaller and way overdrafted Trysten "babycakes" Hill. WTH was Dan Quinn thinking? His decisions just left a bigger hole at DT during the midst of having 3 games in a row where our D repeatedly has been getting run on right up the middle.

How do we know it was Quinn who made that call?

Yeah, 3 games in a row lately of this D getting run right up the gut. Should tell you something.

It tells me that they half assed the DT position like they have done for god knows how long. The fact they had to go get Hankins should tell you that the front office once again screwed the pooch at DT. I mean they got run on by the 49ers in the playoffs and they came back in the offseason and did nothing to improve the run D other than throwing a late round pick at a project in Ridgeway.

But yeah, it's Quinn's coaching that is the problem.

This team just gave up the most rushing yards that it has surrendered in nearly three years and decided that waiving the guy who watched it in street clothes and had no part in it was a good scapegoat.. Go figure.
And that shows just how bad he is and has been since he walked through the door. The worst guy on a not so great group is all he ever was IMO

Yeah Quinn is about the last person to take blame here. And even if it was his decision you either trust him or you don't. Stop picking and choosing when you aren't happy with him cause this defense is awesome.

Same people pissed this off-season and not believing we picked up Fowler and we're gonna start dorance and that we lost Gregory. How'd that go again?
If we had Nolan we would be 2-6, maybe, possibly 1-5. Quinn got us to 6-2. Quinn is the last person on this team that can be criticized. It's not his fault Jerry doesn't draft run stuffing DTs and safeties. And Quinn managed to cure the safety issue.

Bottom line is this is Hill's 4th season and he's been a non factor/waste of a roster spot. Mistake was made, he's cut, let's move on and let's not lose any more players by keeping a roster spot for Hill. I hope for his sake he flourishes somewhere else and gets paid but this situation wasn't right for the team or the player.

So you continue to deflect for the coaches in charge, but instead, blame the front office? When are you ever going to hold coaches accountable?

They desperately should have brought in another 1T run stuffer to make a SB run. They are not really serious about winning imho

Now we will rue the day we cut Hill and lost Ridgeway to an arch rival.

Or possibly, there was something about them they did not like. They chose to lose these players for whatever reason.

They did not want them on their team. It's a good enough reason for me.

I knew he was gonna be a bust the moment they leaked he was the lock draft pick. Just like Vander Trash. Both drafts i was praying another team drafted them

When they deserve it. I’ve been critical of Moore for example at times this year.

But Quinn is working with mediocre DTs and no real LBs beyond Parsons, who plays on the edge often.

I don’t know about you guys but I am really glad to see Hill’s roster spot finally open up. It at least gives the team a chance to use it on a player who brings something to the table.

He wasn't bad this year. If he doesn't get picked up, he'll surely be back to the PS.

But it does allow us to tighten up our needs, so, while I liked Hill, I'm not upset about it.

Whose fault is that? Quinn is our D-Coordinator. All D players drafted the past 2 years, along with unrestricted free agents signed, along with any D player free agency pickups have been his decisions. HE allowed for John Ridgeway to be cut while keeping Trysten Hill, who has now been cut. How are these moves not Dan Quinn's responsibility?

This is a patriots type of move….recognize you missed on a player, try and trade, if not dump and move on.

Our drafting is so much better that we are good moving up young guys.
