I am sick and tired of hearing/reading about the Eagles

So, is that the blueprint to beat Philly? With a little more talent on the roster than the Panthers, would that propel the Cowboys to a victory?
Perhaps. Hurts seems to be doing everything to avoid turnovers, which includes a failure to just throw to open receivers. I think a team needs to pick its poison, like stopping the run game, and just saying to Hurts, you beat us. If he does his job and makes some throws, then so be it.

It seems like the recipe for slowing down Philly is coming into form. You gotta stop Barkley at all costs. He ran for over 100 yesterday but he didn't have a bunch of big runs. The Eagles passing game is still off so load up and stop Barkley and make Hurts beat you.

KC is built to beat them. Green Bay is pretty good against the run. Vikings as well but I don't trust their offense. They have an interesting matchup with the Steelers this week who is also pretty good defensively.
The Eagles shouldn't need for Hurts in the playoffs to put up the numbers we saw Josh Allen put up yesterday in order for them to go on a deep run. But the do need for Hurts to be more productive and efficient than he was yesterday which means hitting open WRs.

Barkley has been great for them and by himself has probably accounted for at least 4 or 5 wins they have not have gotten without him. But they can't get too comfortable with just relying on one player on their offense to be the sole or main reason why they can move the ball and score. Because defenses in the NFL eventually finds a way to limit offenses who relies on mostly one weapon.

As we have seen when it comes to the Cowboys and CeeDee Lamb. But unlike the Cowboys front office, the Eagles front office has provided their team with multiple productive to good weapons. Which means them having problems in the passing game either falls on Hurts or the play calling.

Because their fans went through TWICE as many losing seasons as we did?
Losing seasons?

A losing season as a Cowboy fan should be a season you dont make it past the divisional round.

Sorry to break it to you. Detroit has better ownership, front office, and coaching. Also better player development and talent.

This thread became a “Cowboyszone casually talking about the Eagles” thread
At the end of the day, I believe it all comes from the frustrations that Cowboys fans feel with Jerry Jones and what he's doing with the NFL's most valuable franchise.

Jerry kind of drew the line with all his BS talk this year with his "all in" comment IMO. He made a statement like the showman he is, but he isn't or has never lived up to it. No different than the past, but now you can point a finger at it.

The city of Philly is trash, and for the longest time the Eagles were trash (before Vermeil and Reid), but over at least the last 20 years, it's finally getting to the cowboys fans that Jerry is a complete idiot who has lived in the shadows of Jimmy Johnson. If I were Jimmy Johnson, I'd be looking for royalties on the most valuable NFL team because he made it what it was.

When people make comments like "the city of Philly is trash", but they (possibly) live in Dallas, which is no picnic, they just show how limited their world view is. Philly has been a city for far longer than Dallas, and the history and culture dwarf that of Dallas. Does anyone have a casual reason to visit Dallas? Are there sites? Historical landmarks other than "The grassy noll"? Maybe visit places first before you go on insulting them.

Resided in, and worked in about 10 states in the US, not including when I traveled abroad in my younger years.

My family is from Pennsylvania, went to high school there and graduated from college there.

Every city has it's own beauty if you live there, and yes, I've worked in Philly. That said, for the most part, Philly really is trash, and if someone put a gun to my head and gave me the choice of Dallas or Philly, Dallas hands down;)

Now in the defense of ANY major metropolitan US city, I'd much rather be able to pee and shoot off my back porch (which I do now) vs taking the subway to work (which I use to do a very long time ago).

I'm what you could call an educated Appalachian American, even though my grandparents came off the boat in the early 1900's LOL

I've lived in multiple countries, multiple big cities, East Coast, West Coast and now Dallas. I've lived in apartments and houses, taken public transportation and driven everywhere out of necessity (like now). I've traveled extensively and have witnessed both the good and bad of most places I've experienced.

Thus, I'm genuinely curious. When you say "for the most part, Philly really is trash", what do you mean? Which parts? What people? Why?

I can say the same except my time in Texas was in Houston, not Dallas. Loved living in Texas more than any other place. One thing I can say about every metro area I’ve lived in, Philadelphia included, if you’re wealthy enough they are all lovely places to live and work.

I guess it is would you could call the the pucker factor if you take a wrong turn somewhere. Every city has good and bad, just from my perspective, Philly honestly had more bad than a lot of other cities where it seems like a 3rd world country, including Camden over the bridge.

Actually worked in DC a long time ago when they had one of their highest murder rates (prior to working in Philly). Still seemed more safe than Philly.

Given Pa, Pittsburgh is a much nicer city IMO. That said, a good friend who is a retired LEO tells me Reading has gone to hades in a handbasket from the 80's.

In Philly's defense, never spent time in LA or NY city, but did live in upstate NY, where Albany is controlled by NY city and they have ruined the state. Don't count the military years because perspective is changed. NC is nothing like I thought when I moved back as a civilian LOL

Lets face it, you will have to admit that the Eagles use to suck for so long that the fans are really more trashy than other fans to boot LOL

I mean, Philly fans have a bad reputation, but stupid stuff happens at NFL games everywhere. https://nypost.com/2023/09/18/jets-cowboys-fans-fight-in-bloody-brawl-at-atampt-stadium/

BUT... Philly has a reputation and deservedly so. That said, at least when Veterans stadium was around, seemed phillie's fans were much nicer than eagles fans.

End of the day, people are people no matter where you live. However, the odd thing with Philly is there is no boundaries between "good neighborhoods" and "bad neighborhoods". Oh, yes, Philly has the tourists sights of course like any city, but man, for the most part the city has nothing to do with "Brotherly love" at all.

That said, I'm a damn yankee and no way in H E double toothpicks would I move back to the North East anyways. Something to be said for hunting coyotes off your back porch late at night with thermal on a bolt rifle with a can. Life don't get any better LOL Also something to be said for not having to lock your car doors at night and not having to worry about people stealing crap.

Philly does have boundaries between good and bad neighborhoods. If you were born here or lived here for any length of time, and got out and about, you would know.

On another note, I visited Dallas twice. I didn't go through the entire city, but I recall seeing a lot of brown grass, concrete, and "fake" Texas, not what I saw outside the cities.

I'll take where I live in Naples, Florida over Philly, South Jersey (Cape May and Stone Harbor are very nice places), or Dallas though.

6 months was more than enough for me in the Philly area (that said, I graduated high school about 90 minutes north). As mentioned, Pittsburgh much nicer IMO for a large city in Pa for myself.

That said, it comes down to whatever floats your boat on where you like to live. Florida has always been to flat and to humid for myself along with dealing with the hurricanes.

However, did some work in the Pensacola area over to the gulf shore area, and although only there for 3 or so months, really liked that area. I'm not a "shore person", although there are some beaches I love in NC and SC that don't get a lot of foot traffic.

Again, comes down to what you like. Where I'm at is pretty much perfect for myself, although some people may get tired of the cows, pigs, goats or horses that get loose and people looking for the owners on facebook LOL. I know all my neighbors, very good friends with some, and we all look at for each other. Perfect no matter where you live.
