Yes, Dak lacks the weapons that Hurts has, but Dak's best weapon that day in SF was his Defense. Dak, whether on his own or because of his coaches, had to shoulder a heavy load that he couldn't carry on that Sunday. The most important thing he had to do was NOT turn the ball over, and with that assignment he falied.
I'm on record as saying we can win with Dak, but he's taking up a significant chunk of cap space. This is why most teams find real success when they have their QBs on the rookie deal. The Bengals are loaded with Burrow, Higgins and Chase, but they're all on rookie deals. I think Dallas needs to build up the Defense even more to help carry the team, and hopefully with the coaching change Dak's responsibilities game to game can be better managed so he's not put into a position to feel like he has to carry the team.
