I haven't missed watching a game in over 40 years. Can you say the same.
I haven missed many in 35...

Not as old as you are but don't miss games. Still proudly wore my gear the last 20 years win or lose.
If the measure of being a fan is how much gear one buys in his life time, then I'd say my dick is longer than yours. But that's of course not how I measure being a fan.
Sorry pal I still have my 1970's gear. Don't need to buy gear to be a fan but if you waited to get gear when they once again have success then you are a bandwagon fan.
With respect, I never understand why the rewards of fandom depend so much upon good times. Regardless of the day, week, month, year or era, the franchise is always the Dallas Cowboys.
"Blessed be fans who support teams unconditionally."

Being a loyal fan makes these good times, rare as they may be sometimes, all the sweeter.
God bless you bandwagon fans that buy the shirts after great success. We need you too so Jerry can pay the big salaries. But you're missing something special. To each his own...
Ridiculous your utter lack of respect for the original posters choice show how mentally weak and shallow you are. Not one person here is on the bandwagon. So, fair weather fan.
It is getting harder to find Dallas merchandise over the last month here in Houston. Even the lighters and coozies are gone before Texan stuff.

Supporting the team unconditionally doesn't mean you buy the most swag or rubber stamp everything they do. It doesn't mean you can't be critical or that you can't pessimistic about a game or a season. I don't get how people don't get that.
I'm a life long Cowboys fan and And have been since 1981. I won't buy another item of Cowboys paraphernalia until Jerry Jones steps out of the picture completely. It's my choice and I'm comfortable with it.
You know what else, just because you may choose to, doesn't make you a better fan. It also doesn't mean I don't support this team.
In 1989 we were 1-15. I had just moved to Tucson. I was on my motorcycle at an intersection one day and I had on my Herschel Walker jersey. He had already been traded to the Vikings.
A guy in the back seat of a car next to me at the light asked me, "Did you buy that jersey on sale?" I laughed and said, "I wish." There were 4 guys in the car, and they all said they admired that I was still a die hard.
I do not care how bad the Cowboys are, I will love them. I will wear their gear. I will buy stuff that I want. I'm not a fan of fake protests that do no good. No one alive or dead can make me not want to love my team, buy stuff I want, and enjoy it. I don't get it, but some people I do respect think it matters somehow. I don't see how.
I enjoyed being a fan in 1989 who wasn't afraid to continue supporting my team. No one accused me of being a bandwagon fan, or a fair weather fan. The losing sucked, but the respect I got from other fans for being willing to still show my support was cool.
I swear many of these post are coming from those who take little time to think or little time to read a thread.
Sorry but your are not a real fan if you had to wait to get your gear again.
Responding to the post doesn't require reading others thoughts. My response was geared to the person I responded too. If you want to chime in on the discussion feel free but try and respond to the post you quoted next time not editorialize about something that has no bearing on the topic at hand.
but for people like stash and to a large degree, me, it's not about jerrys wallet it's just choosing not to be a part of t.
never said it would make a difference to jones, but it makes a difference to me. maybe stash.
Bro I think you miss interpreted my reply. I was referring to others who seem to not get what you are saying which is more or less what I'm saying.
I never said I was a better fan. I will simply say I don't feel inferior to any other fan because I don't think that way.Cool story bro. Still doesn't make you any better of a fan then me or anyone else. As an aside, I wore a Cowboys jersey or tshirt Monday and Friday that year to high school. Still didn't make me a better fan the anyone else here.

Likely not because we have fans here that think they can tell others how to be a fan. We have fans here that think they can decide who is a fan or not.
