ppl get more creative at breaking the rules here every day...but I did find it odd Brees picked Hatch so quickly

Brees is welcomed to him. If Brees like an expensive, aging journeyman, Hatcher is the one for him.
I hope there is no hand-wringing at Valley Ranch if someone else romances him. We are known for keeping players way past their expiration date and our records since the mid 1990s show that.

Hatcher is 32 years old with one good year.

You don't pay big money for that, especially when you are already cap constrained.

Who gives a ,what Hatcher says. It will be forgotten that same day.
No body but Cowboy fans would care what he says.

Once Hatcher leaves, I can see the future too. He will be gone, the defense will not finish worse than it was when he was here, and the Cowboys will likely go 8-8 again. Hatcher played well this year and it didn't even move the needle on the defense. I wish him luck and have no feelings towards him staying or going if he counts more than 12 cents on the cap.

This team shouldn't be paying premium wages to ANY aging players,,, they will not be contending anytime soon.

Unless you're a quarterback, giving premium wages and long term deals to anyone over 30 has disaster written all over it. Only the athletic freaks, like a Julius Peppers for example, are exemptions.

Once Hatcher signs with the Saints, he will bash our organization..WATCH. You saw how Brees made Hatch his first pick in the Pro Bowl, HE IS GOING TO THE SAINTS...

Who cares if he bashes the Dallas Cowboys? Pick a number and wait in line, there's no shortage of haters.

I don't get it. Does Hatcher have some shocking information to share? For example, does he have video of Jerry Jones whispering in Jason Garrett's ear at halftime of the Green Bay game, saying, "Jason. Pass as often as possible. Do not run the ball to eat up clock. And if necessary, just punt the ball."

The Cowboys aren't the laughing stock of the NFL, either. They're middle of the road and have played a meaningful season ending game for the past few years which some fans of other teams would kill for.

We've all been disappointed by the end results the last few years but take a step back from the ledge because believe it or not it could be worse.

And I'm not the type that says..

'We've got to blow it all up becuz the last 3 years we haven't won titles.'

I mean 8-8 is not championship football..

..but we've not been able to get out of our own way.

Coaching, lack of talent, injuries, bad bounces, bad officiating, dropped ints.,

..whatever.

We still could turn things around big this season if a few things break right instead of always wrong.

Cowboys are the laughing stock. They are below average and to think otherwise is being in denial. I rather be 3-13 or 4-12 than some mediocre record for the past 3 years. At least we can rebuild with a bad record. Season ending games are not meaningful. We lost for the past 3 years so I don't understand why you would say its meaningful. Time to rebuild this entire team from top down. Get rid of Jerry as GM which won't happen. Time to dump Garrett which also won't happen. We will be average because of the people at the top don't know what they're doing.

So, by your explanation, half the teams in the NFL are laughing stocks?

He should go to a 4-3 defense. He was average on the 3-4.

At this stage of Hatcher's career he just wants to get paid.

I'm sure if they offered enough, he'd try to play DB.

Good luck to him.

I agree. The salary cap has been an issue every year due to these contracts and it is bad business to continue the trend.
