I so want to agree, but I saw too many times the line could not open holes for Murray and the run was abandoned.

I agree about Murray, but Bernie is not in the same class as Martin. And a year under FredBeard's belt and the addition of Martin and Leary al;l playing together makes this a line of an incredible ceiling.

Romo got pushed at the end of a play, and had to scramble out of two others. But I don't think he even got his jersey dirty last night.

They had that clock on him when he scrambled and fired that pass to Witten when he got shoved down. It was like seven seconds.

But think back to when he passed and there were times he was waiting for the receiver to uncover and he was in a perfect pocket. The first TD to TWill, he stood there stomping his feet like he was putting out cigarettes and had no rush on him at all.

Fitty, I'd like to agree about last year but this is black and white. This line is awesome.

I agree. This OL allows Dallas to use fully use all weapons we have and personally I think we have a lot of weapons on offense. Dez, T. Williams, Witten of course Murray and very good role players like Beasly and Harris. The OL allows us to counter whatever the defense throws at us. You want to stack the line or blitz? Bring it on we will kill you with the passing game. You want to take away the pass fine DeMarco will just add to his league leading rushing.

I agree this line is better and more seasoned but your first sentence says it all. They abandoned the run the first sign of a negative run. Every hole and run for Murray this season hasn't been 4 yards and a cloud of dust. They've been stuffed this year too, bit stick with the run. There was no excuse for Murray to be among the lowest ball carriers with his production last year. To me it's black and white with their approach this year. A negative run or two this year doesn't mean air Romo AUTOMATICALLY and it shouldn't have last year. There's only 1 change to this line/offensive lineup from last year and no one can convince me Martin is the difference for Murray's success. Berny was playing well and that line/run game could have helped mask a porous defense last year too. There's no doubt in my mind, last year was a playoff team had they just stuck with the run throughout 2013.

A great O-Line does one helluva lot more than open up holes and running lanes for a RB. It keeps defenses on their heels in every aspect and opens up a hornets nest with Dallas' talent. (I know you know this.)

Tony no longer has to win solo, which will erase many mistakes. I'm willing to bet he had friggin' blast last night.

This could be his best year with Dallas........ever.

Keep it up Dallas Cowboys.

Mash that gas pedal and don't look back!

I couldn't agree more. The Oline is providing the rest of our offense with confidence and with every game it's growing.

But watch when it has been stuffed. Surely in the last stanza when Dallas was trying to run some clock they were stacking it knowing it was coming. But the first two series, Dallas squeaked by, then the line made adjustments and Murray blew up.

No line is the Berlin Wall. But these guys are looking special.

However, one of the huge points of contention have been about the defense. If Romo had a defense then....

You fill in the blank.

But with the offensive line play, which enables a guy like Murray to display his immense talent, one might argue this team needed an offensive line more.

Now I'm not here trying to start an argument after that terrific win.

But this team cashed in 7's instead of 3's most of the night. In the past all the work the offense would do seemed to end with a fieldgoal, which allowed the game slip away. They controlled the game by continuing to score touchdowns.

The season is still early. But if this offense can keep this kind of pressure on the opponent, and own the clock, then this season may be something I would never have projected.

Now add in Lawrence and Spencer, and somehow create a pass rush and who knows how far this team will go.

I'm still suspect.

But that was some football on the field Sunday night.

He's had an offensive line and a good back before so this statement is kinda odd to me. Remember we went 13-3 once? Then that line got old and crumbled in 2009ish. So this is the second o-line he's had except this one is much younger and has far more potential. Could it just be the coaches are dialing in on what needs to be done as a team and limiting the audibles? We need to figure out a scheme to get the ball in Dez's, Twill's, Dunbar's, and Harris's hands out in space more between 20-30 yds out.

And you won't go far without a half decent defense to above average defense. Still I continue to believe our best defense is a better offense...

That offe3nsive line was good, but it also was undisciplined and got penalized way too much.

How many false starts and holding calls came last night. The one on Free was bogus.

But to be fair, they did have a jailbreak of linemen down field on that screen pass that wasn't called.

Romo threw a great deal then. This team is number on in yards from scrimmage in the run game, number one back in yards rushing, and number one attempts in the run game. That 2007 team was nothing like this team in regard to the run game. Neither was the line.

These guys are special. 2013 Oline had the makeup to be nice, but not as nice as these young studs. 2013 never got the chance to adjust. It was simple, stop Murray a couple of times, then pin yours ears back because they won't run often anymore. There was no reason to abandon the run and not give e them a chance to adjust or impose their will. 2013 was not trusted and their body.of work gave no.reason for that mistrust outside of a couple negative early runs which all.Olines give up including our 2014 line.

Murray is very much like Barber but with more speed and more wiggle, but Barber was sick before he tore that quad. And then for a short time we had the home run threat in Felix, but that fizzled out quickly. The reality is that Romo just loves to throw the ball and it's up to the coaches to dial him down and run the ball more, which they figured out after the Game 1 fiasco. It's coming together nicely and I can see at least 9 wins this year if not 10...

There are some similarities to 2007. Though pass attempts are down, comp %, ave and rating are about the same I think. And Marion and Julius combined for 1500+ yards. I think though overall this 2014 has been more effective at what that 2007 team was trying to do in the run game. But I think what they wanted to do in 2007 is the same as 2014.

No, I said they'd be 5-11. You may need to take a math refresher course.

Been wrong before. I'd rather be wrong and this team do the impossible. it's easier for me to get over being wrong than it is season after season of 8-8.

Honestly, it feels very foreign for me to come on here and feel optimistic while posting for a change.

I just hope last night wasn't fools gold and we all don't end up looking like suckers but with a running game this strong we can just take games from teams and there isn't a whole lot they can do about it.

Me too.

I remember a 1992 season video of Dallas that had the highlights of the play-off games included Catch. Dallas marched down the field and manhandled the Eagles.

Nate came to the bench and yelled out, "Now that's some football."

I think I said that about eight times last night. You and me been around a long time, and we both are so hungry for those days again. People assign some type of personality to us because we know, have seen the days when Dallas was slobberknocking teams and making them like it.

I predicted this would be a horrible season. I will gladly eat crow week after week if they can keep this up while marching to the NFC championship game. I loom at your Dirk sig and dream, buddy. Anything can happen, it seems.

I'd love to see Big Lights, Linehan and this offense and Romo getting what he deserves. We'll see.

Agreed but when Marion Barber came into games it was like a shot of adrenaline and he would just keep getting first down after first down to end games.

This run game is definitely more consistent though for 4 quarters and there is no Julius Jones eating the bulk of carries.
