I can't fault the D today

The D did their job. It wasn't pretty, but they stopped the Ravens on at least 4-5 occasions, including stuffing Derrick Henry at least 4 times. He didn't have a career game like he did last time he played us. All in all, the defence did about as well as you'd expect a defence to do in a game like that. And that's considering the fact that they had a rubbish DPI against Bland that should have been OPI (and changed a lot of momentum in the game at that moment leading to the Ravens opening score).

The fault for this game lies with the offense and Schotty. The offense didn't take advantage of multiple stops. The shovel pass was idiotic. They played too cowardly on the last drive, but didn't kill the clock if they were planning on taking it to OT. All in all, this loss is on Schotty and the offense (including Dak).

Today blame goes on both sides.

Bell needs to fly back with Baltimore

Bell was terrible, but, overall, I think the D was much better than it had been. This was night and day compared to when we played the Ravens in 2024. It's not pretty, but they did their job for the most part. The offense didn't take advantage.

No. We need to keep blaming the defense. Yes, they're injured. Yes, they made a couple plays (woohoo, go team!).

But they continue to leave WRs and TEs WIDE OPEN in the middle of the field for easy conversions. They continue to get ZERO pass rush. They continue to give up BIG PLAYS. They continue to MISS TACKLES AND SACKS. They lost the game with SEVEN SECONDS left by playing scared and giving Lamar a wide open pass.

We saw some improvement today, and that is amazing when you're used to being the worst defense in the league. But I have major reservations about Parker's scheme and overall passivity. He's only 3 games into his career, so he can learn and grow, but I absolutely hate what we've seen so far.

Nah I fault everyone. the defense gave up 34 points. You better believe they are getting some of the blame. Gave up 34 points and almost 200 yard rushing and not blaming the defense is crazy.

Still, they made critical stops against a dangerous offense that gashed them 2 years ago. The offense has to take advantage of it. I'm not saying the D was awesome, but they do look better imo.

They had their moments to build on, but they still can't deal with a mobile QB.

How many of those came from failed offensive possessions? The three and out after the key stop before was terrible, and the shovel pass on the first drive killed us. As long as we don't go 3 and out, I think we probably win that game.

Ummmmmmmmm you can't????? Wow we do strive for mediocrity around here!

Honestly? I thought they did better against Lamar on the run. Bear in mind, this is still not a great D. But, they looked better. I see improvement there, especially compared to two years ago. But the offense can't be going 3 and out when we get a key stop.

The bills had 5 turnovers today and the defense gave up 16 points. ****
The third to last defencive possession, the defence got a stop. Offense gets the ball in good position. We had a 28-24 lead with about 5 minutes left. The offense went 3 and out. That's not on the defence. As long as we get a first down or two, we are probably talking about our second ever win against Baltimore.

All due respect Rusty. This is just because the Overton window has been moved. The defense has been so bad the last 20 games. That even the smallest signs of life seem good.

But it was still overall an atrocious game for the defense.

That's fair, and I'm not saying they were perfect. But, I think they did enough to where the offense should have won it on at least two occasions. Instead, we're 1-2.

Defense has three positives, barham, quinnen, and downs (and I know downs didn't make any big plays today, but I rarely see his name when a pass is completed so I know he's doing his job).

I wanna see downs more at safety so he can maybe be in a position to make plays, But he's been playing nickel corner.

Other than those three guys what do we have? Maybe Malachi becomes something.

But bland got paid and hasn't been good, overshown can't stay healthy.
