I do not get the resistance to OBJ

What I have seen this year, if you can take away Lamb, you can takeaway the Cowboys passing attack. Good defenses will be able to do this. Now if you add OBJ, Lamb will see less double coverage and teams can no longer just play the deep shells against us, as our run game is improved this season.

Getting guys open is at best 50% based on a WR’s talent. Most of the time getting people open is a combo of scheme and the QBs ability to read the field and take what’s given. OBJ when he was healthy was a talented receiver who got open for sure. But the NFL is not sandlot or even college football. Getting guys open is not all just individual ability.

The old saying “The defense will take away someone” is usually a myth. Some of the great defensive minds like Belechick can do that or if a team has a Deion Sanders….but otherwise that kind of stuff is rare. If a defense doubles a WR to “take them away” as an option, someone else WILL be open. Very, very few defenses have the ability to take away anyone. Especially if you have an offense that knows how to exploit that.

IF he can still play at a high level. Very questionable.

1) He was good with the Giants and Eli.

2) Baker was clearly the issue in Cleveland.

3) With the Rams, stafford and him were a TD combo. He was on his way to the Super Bowl MVP (just end of last season) until he hurt his kneee and then Cooper Kupp stepped up.

4) Amari came here with no training camp and Dak and him lit it up. Simply put, Dak can produce with a new wr quickly.

If he passes the physical, enjoy!
Resistance is futile.

Receivers still have to separate, run good routes. Teams can definitely scheme to take away 1 player, the more you have, the harder it gets to defend.

Of course. But IMO OBJs presence will not be why we win playoff games. Maybe…maybe he helps a little. But if it took Michael Gallup almost 11 months to get back to where he was, why would we expect OBJ to step on the field and immediately be a big difference maker?

With the rams last year in 14 games, Beckham had 44 receptions (about 3 per game), averaged 38 yards per game and had 5 TDs. At 30 and after two ACL tears on the same knee in less than 3 years, we’re expecting him to be something he’s not anymore- a receiver that scares defensive coordinators.

He is still a receiver that can dominate matchups. Might not be as explosive as he once was, but still can be an impactful player. He played well after his 1st knee surgery in around the same time frame. He is proven to be a much better player then the likes of Brown, Washington whom would be our #3 receiver.

Too much drama. Look at the drama he's creating with this signing. He thinks he's LeBron.

The only drama is made up. There are zero player issues, coaching issues etc with the guy. Only medical and money. Stephen isn't writing a blank check, if they can come to a deal great and if not that's ok but some of yall acting like there is drama when there isn't.

Dude had 288 yards in the playoffs last January and was on his way to Super Bowl mvp until he got hurt. Those are facts. That is elite production,

What is this “distraction narrative”? He was great with the Rams and they wanted him back.

if he passes the physical, it is a win.
Apparently you are forgetting about Brown and Washington. They are elite under and over duo.

Can't help the OP understand what a disaster signing OBJ would be. Never ever saw such a diva fest for a 30 year old coming off an ACL injury.
