I don't think I can watch this...

I see you found someone else as knowledgeable about football as you are.

Maybe You, Edunce, and Awakened can start your own Fantasy League.

That would be fun to watch.

;)

Hell, Jerry has clearly improved.

If this were old Jerry, he would have already given a 200 million signing bonus to Moss, 100 million to Samuel and then cut half the team to make it work

This just in... THE COWBOYS HAVE NOT WON A PLAYOFF GAME IN OVER TEN YEARS!!!!!! Yet some fans are happy with the direction of the team - maintaining the status quo. Sad.
So you can't watch...

but you can post here, presumably for the attention.

You don't have the ambition/experience to find a job in the NFL at the executive level, where you could make some sort of difference...

but you can sit back and lob criticism from the peanut gallery.

You want to express your opinion...

but you condemn/don't understand people that don't agree.

Your position defines the word 'sad'.

Yo, Awakened: you're better off asleep.

Permanently.

That is all.

It is obvious now that Jerry is in total control and has absolutely nobody with any influence over his decision making. It is all downhill from here. We have seen one bone-headed move after the other the last few months. First, he lost Parcells, and then Ireland, as well as a couple of Ireland's guys. The smart guys are gone. Jerry made two moves the last couple of days that are true indicators of a downward spiral:

First, signing Adams to a six-year deal is much more of a Snyder-Commanders move than a Patriots or Giants move. Great organizations know when to say goodbye to aging players. They don't get stuck with huge contracts on players who no longer "have it." This happened to us in the late 90's when Jerry was large and in charge, and its happening again.

Second, trading Ferguson for a sixth round choice (plus a swap of 6th rounders) indicates that either Parcells has pictures of Jerry and Larry Lacewell in a compromising posture, or Jerry is just a goof ball. Either scenario is bad. When is the lovefest with Miami going to end? Surely there is something else they want. Marion Barber, maybe?

I don't know if I can watch. We are no longer a team on the rise. Jerry is in total control, and history tells us that means we're in for a bumpy, debilitating ride.

Does Flo no longer have it? I thought he played very well this past season. Why do I keep seeing gripes about the contract being for 6 years. The length of contracts hardly seems to matter. It is more how the base salary and bonuses are distributed in the contract. I don't know the specifics of Flo's contract, but I doubt Jerry would hamstring the team with an unreasonable contract.

Ferguson may have been cut to save money. Getting any kind of compensation for him is a good thing. Maybe it is not a great move, but it is not close to being a bad move. Not win Dallas has proven the defense can perform without him.

No, I don't have a big problem with trading Ferguson - if you can get some value for him. Surely somebody out there wanted one of the best NT's in the game and would be willing to give something up for him. I do think that Ferguson is the best NT on the team - so why basically give him away?

One of the best NT's in the game? Are you on crack? Have you ever heard of:
Casey Hampton, Vince Wilfork, or Luis Castillo. All three are twice the NT that Jason Ferguson is. Not to mention did you notice the job that Jay Ratliff did at NT last year? I am not convinced that Ferguson was the best NT on the TEAM, much less one of the best in the league. Heck, I would even go as far as to say that Dwayne Robertson is a better NT that Ferguson.

Ferguson is a good solid NT that eats up blocks, but that is all that he is. In his two years as our starting NT, he had exactly ONE sack. Last year along Ratliff had 3 sacks last year. Now I am NOT going to say that sacks are the only thing that matters, they definately are not. But only 1 in two years is NOT a good number, no matter how you slice it.

You mean like the Patriots re-signing Bruschi again to a multi-year deal yesterday?

Okay, that makes zero sense. You're against re-signing Flozell, but you're for keeping the aging Ferguson....a guy that saves Dallas $2.4 million by trading him and we've already got players who have replaced him.

I guess Jerry wasn't in total control last year where he hired Wade (which was flamed), signed Bigg Davis (which was flamed) and Ken Hamlin. We also finally drafted a kicker who can actually make field goals. Dallas wound up going 13-3 by getting key positions (RG, Kicker, and Free Safety) that Parcells just could never do.

YAKUZA
Thanks for saving me the typing. You said everything I was going to say. I'd like to add, Jerry had no business denying Ireland and those coaches their right to move on and up in a different organization either.
