I do think Flo was overpaid. Zach too.
I'd rather save the dough for a Roy Williams at WR or capable CB to play opposite Newman. Or safety.
These positions, if you address them in the draft, will take a couple of years to become good. And we need help now.
FA is the way to go, so I hope Jerra has some cap/cash reserves to pay for these vital positions, which should shore the secondary and give relief to T.O. on the other side.

It is obvious now that Jerry is in total control and has absolutely nobody with any influence over his decision making. It is all downhill from here. We have seen one bone-headed move after the other the last few months. First, he lost Parcells, and then Ireland, as well as a couple of Ireland's guys. The smart guys are gone. Jerry made two moves the last couple of days that are true indicators of a downward spiral:

First, signing Adams to a six-year deal is much more of a Snyder-Commanders move than a Patriots or Giants move. Great organizations know when to say goodbye to aging players. They don't get stuck with huge contracts on players who no longer "have it." This happened to us in the late 90's when Jerry was large and in charge, and its happening again.

Second, trading Ferguson for a sixth round choice (plus a swap of 6th rounders) indicates that either Parcells has pictures of Jerry and Larry Lacewell in a compromising posture, or Jerry is just a goof ball. Either scenario is bad. When is the lovefest with Miami going to end? Surely there is something else they want. Marion Barber, maybe?

I don't know if I can watch. We are no longer a team on the rise. Jerry is in total control, and history tells us that means we're in for a bumpy, debilitating ride.

I see this type of thread every year when Free agency starts.
The sky is falling and Jerry doesn't have a clue.

JJ supposedly overpays for a offensive lineman who was labeled as a bust when he was in Arizona. How did that turn out???
JJ hires his offensive coordinator and get widely criticized by the local and national media that he is undercutting his head coach before he is even hired. How did that turn out???
JJ gets Ken Hamlin in FA even though he was seen as washed up. How did that turn out???
Seems like that all worked out for us considering Jason Garrett was the hottest head coaching candidate and Hamlin and Leonard Davis were both in the Pro Bowl.
Now so far this offseason JJ has managed to keep Jason Garrett which suprised everyone. A good suprise for Cowboy fans.
He re-signed Flozell Adams. Another pro-bowler.
After all of this we are suppose to believe JJ doesn't know what he is doing...
go sell crazy some place else.
