I am not really mad. This team went farther than I ever thought they would. But this game was eye opening. The question is now that we lost, where do we go from here. I think they have some tough decisions ahead. I think they may have to take a step back to take a few steps forward. I think our QB showed he limit tonight. This is as far as the Cowboys will go with him. That's not good enough. Nothing to be mad about or disappointed. I mean we wish Dak was smarter, and better, but he isn't. So why drag this out anymore? The Cowboys made a mistake giving him $40 million so now they need to start thinking about getting out of that deal. Same with Zeke. You don't pay a RB $15 million per year to gain 1 yard.
They are putting something good together on defense but the defense played as well as could be expected tonight and they still lost. Because the QB gave away 6 points and missed a few opportunities to move the football deep into 49ers territory. I want a QB who give me his best every time he takes the field. Instead we have a QB who tantalizes us with a great performance against a weaker team then folds when he is needed most. He can apologize and promise to better after all his failures but he has no control over his mistakes anymore. He is not going to get better, he is going to regress more. He is Donovan McNabb.
Let's take the CAP him in 2023, clear out the dead wood and in 2024 make a concerted effort to build a roster like the Eagles did. Maybe we draft high in 2024 and find that QB of the future.
