I feel sicker now than I did during the Campo era.

no, we're not

we look like a team that will be damn lucky to finish .500

I take that bet - we will be > .500

I think we feel sicker because we actually had expectations for this bunch. You get so numb to losing when you're bad that they definitely don't hurt like they do now.

Unfortunately, I'm starting to get numb to these losses, as well, in a sense. While they eat me up much more later on the day, during the actual game, I'm getting to the point where I expect the team to lose.

You can tell when this team just doesn't have it, as has been the case for the last month. And once I can see that, my hopes dwindle greatly. Down 14-7 today, you just knew it was over with this team. When they blew that 4th-down conversion, you just knew the field goal would be no good.

The worst part? My sentiments only seem to mirror those of the actual players.

My point was eventhough we had less talent then, at least you knew they'd give effort.

We might have the most talented players in the NFL right now, but they don't play anywhere near their potential.

And Nors - as usual - didn't get it.

And why on earth isn't he on your ignore list?

Rack - after potentially the single one day biggest mindmelt chicken little suicidal alerts - hope you are ok in AM.

Godspeed

good post dude.

The minute the ball was snapped I knew sham was going to say he missed it and sure enough he did. And it just didnt seem to matter to that many people on the sideline from what I saw.

The issues here are only fixable in the offseason. And that is a crying shame, especially for us fans whose heartbeats basically exist to follow this team.

The thing that makes me feel bad is that we clearly had a better team last year than this year. That's not on paper, of course, but on the field. It makes me feel that much worse about blowing our opportunity last year.

As for comparisons with the Campo era, well, there is no comparison. Think back to the pickle juice game, the endless needling from Skins and Eagles fans, the trip to Sea World, punting at the end of the game when there was no chance to get the ball back, etc.. it goes on and on.

Nope, those were the lowest years, under-achieving now, while it hurts... it's just no comparison to being the league doormat.

I felt so bad after todays lose to the Rams, that I had to pull-out my Dallas Cowboy First Aid Kit.

Cowboy First Aid Kit:

(1) Bottle of Xanax 2mg.

(1) Bottle of Johnnie Walker Gold

(1) Wade Phillips Voo Doo Doll with Pins

After a couple of xanax, a few glasses of scotch, and poking pins in FatBoy for a couple of hours, I'm starting to have a much better outlook on life.

I totally agree. Not saying Campo is the answer or he got a bad rap.

But his teams played hard and with heart. Not sure if it was him, Darren Woodson's leadership or what.

The fact that any of us compare Philips to Campo is a bad sign.

true, they played hard even when that goof thought it was easier to score two seven point TDs and a FG in 8 minutes than two 8 point TDs against the Broncos on US Thanksgiving in 2001

I left Detroit for this?

This feels like '86 all over again-we were hyped as Super Bowl contenders throughout the offseason, we hired a stud offensive minded coach from SF(Paul Hackett) to be our OC, we got off to a fast 6-2 start(including a thumping of the Skins at home)...then all of a sudden Danny White AND Gary Hogeboom got hurt for the year at The Meadowlands, leaving us with Peluer(sp) for the remainder of the season. We DID have a chance to win that game only for boneheaded penalties to lose it for us.

It was ALL downhill since...our lone win in the 2nd half was against the lowly Chargers, while the straw that broke the camel's back was getting crushed by the Skins AT halftime at RFK, and then Landry slowly but surely lost control of the team.
Where did we lose our QB for the season?

This is not like 86.

Nonetheless, Landry lost control of that team in the 2nd half. Sure, we were down to our 3rd string QB b/c both White and Hogeboom went down for the year in the 2nd Giants game, but nonetheless, Peluer(sp) taking snaps under center wasn't the only problem. I remember the 2nd Skins game where it was 34-0 at the half.

But hey, the season isn't even 1/2 way over, so there's still alot of hope.

Today convinced me that Romo may be the MVP in this league.

I will say this about Romo-THE ENTIRE team plays inspired football with him in the game. I'm not talking only the offense, but the defense as well.

I'm not trying to say our D looks like the '85 Bears when he's under center. As a matter of fact, they're a far cry, period, from them. But at least when Romo's in there, our D does a decent job at making plays and keeping themselves in check.

Today with BJ under center...they just looked, well, very uninspired throughout.

We definitely have some problems with coaching - no question about it. But we have some players, especially on defense that are not nearly as good as advertised. The problems run deep.

That is because the players, just like most of us, knew we had no chance with noodle arm.

Kinda hard to get motivated knowing you have no chance to win.

We paid and gave up what for that?:

I'm on the fence with this signing. I want to see what he can do with a healthy Romo and a few weeks of being a Cowboy before I say it was a bad deal.
That picture is friggin priceless though.
