I got to root for the Giants

How a Pats win affects the Cowboys?
  1. It really doesnt
  2. Superbowls and Dynasties
  3. Non-conference
How a Giants win affects the Cowboys?
  1. Same division
  2. Same conference
  3. Rivalry
  4. Bragging rights
  5. Beat us to get the SB
There is more "affect" for me, living in NY and the other reasons I mentioned above that I would rather the Giants lose.

For me if the Giants lose... then the smack talk is much less... less significant and will fade rather quickly. If they get beatdown - even better.

If they win... then it will be hell up here for atleast a year... maybe more if we keep falling in December.

Like Sarge... I expect them to lose... lose big time.... but I expected us to beat the Giants and the Packers. I then expected the Packers to whip the Giants. So.... who knows...

I hate them with a passion but I can get over their Superbowl victory.

If the Patriots win we are going to have to hear how this is the greatest team ever for the rest of our lifes.

Someone will always throw them in the equation.

The legend will continue to grow and all of a sudden they will end up having the greatest dynasty of all time even though their other Superbowl teams dont hold a candle to some of the other teams in the past.

I hate the Giants. I dislike Eli. I cant stand Plaxico. Im so glad I dont have to hear anything from that POS Shockey, but I can get over it.

Agreed.

I had stated in another thread that if the Patriots were to win the Superbowl they would be shoved down our throats more than the '72 Dolphins are now. And I don't want that.

As for the Giants winning....F THAT

The Pats might be the greatest team of all time, people need to realize and appreciate what they have done. The Gints are the Gints. I will never root for them.

No way am I routing for the Giants, especially living here in NJ! Ewwwwwwwww!!!!

Whoever wins I just hope it is a good game. I love my Cowboys but I'm also a fan of the NFL and football in general so I look forward to watching the game and hope it goes down to the wire.

I agree totally. Brady and Belichick are already so arrogant it's pathetic. If they win we'll never hear the end of it. I hate those two more than I hate the Giants. Then you add in Harrison, Seymour, Brushci, Wilfork and the rest of those punks and it's no contest for me.

You forgot Seau - you know, the self proclaimed surfer dude from California.

Gimme a break.

When you go 19-0, your team should be in the conversation regarding who is the best team ever.

Are there a ton of other variables to ponder when coming to a conclusion? Sure, one has to always examine all factors but when you accomplish something in your field that has never been done before and is very extraordinary, you at least earn a seat at the "Greatness" Table.

If the no heart 2007 Dallas Cowboys would have managed to go undefeated, I gurantee you there would have been a huge contingent of fans staking claim to the aforementioned title for them.

I like your logic. :D

Not really rooting for any team. Just gonna watch the game in my Cowboys gear at my superbowl party of choice.

No way in hell. The Giants are no-class trash-talkers who routinely disrespect their opponents. Plus, a Pats victory will shut up those aging fools in Miami and their damn champagne popping.

You left out... when they are losing they trash-talk each other and their coaches.

Whew, not me. If the Patriots were going for #6...maybe. I can't root for any NFC East team.

Exactly. I don't think they'd be rooting for us if we were in their position. I will never root for the NFC East to succeed. Patriots or no Patriots.

I'm hoping the Pats get the record for sacks in a Superbowl and push Eli's career back from where it came. :)

Exactly. The Giants are the lesser of two evils.

As a football fan, you really can't go wrong. You'll be seeing a part of history either way. Either the greatest upset in Superbowl history or a team going 19-0.

Their franchise has notta on ours either thats why.

They've never had a team that you could say is arguably the best ever.

Patriots are a stat dream. If you didn't watch the damn game you'd look at what they did on paper and think they are the best team ever.

A lot of people years from now will never have had the chance to watch these guys. The legend will just grow and grow.

Next thing you know this Patriot team will have 13 Hall of Famers or some crap.

Could not have said this any better. Are you psychic? Living in NYC and not watching any pro football programs or listening to the radio sucks but I refuse to have to listen or watch any of this NY Giants crap that can only go away with a big victory by the Pats!!! These Giants fans are still smirking about the victory over us and they are playing in the Super Bowl!!!

Please god of earth, wind and fire. Please give all the power to the Patriots so that they may steam roll the Giants and send them home quickly. I will then again listen to the radio to hear all of their fans sulk in what could have been but should have never been...

Go New England!!

Same here. It kills me to be rooting for the Pats to finish off their perfect season. If they had just lost ONE freakin' regular season game, it would be so much easier to be rooting for them on Sunday.

But alas... Eli simply cannot win a ring, at least not before Tony. Go Pats. (sigh)
