That bet is a bit extreme. As much as Henson is struggling, I still think his spot on this roster as the 3rd QB is pretty much guaranteed...at least for 2006. After all we did spend a 3rd rounder on him and unless the front office pursues a veteran this summer, I think Henson is safe. We have our starter and Romo is the clear cut back up right now. Henson will be inactive most of the season anyway.
Now if he has another unimpressive training camp than I would imagine he wouldn't even have a chance to compete next summer because he probably would be released outright after this season.

Many folks also thought it was a bit too extreme when I thought Dan Campbell was a beat down player going into the 2005 season.
Though Henson is not as beat down as Dan Campbell, that knee injury suffered in NFLE is serious. That is the 1st significant injury he's had since breaking a bone in his foot at Michigan.
He's going to be rehabbing, leading up to camp. He's already behind as far as assimilating the system that Palmer will install. All the other QBs including the UDFA aren't thousands of miles away from the Ranch rehabbing. They are at Valley Ranch, healthy and working out with the team.
Henson should have been on a plane back to Valley Ranch the minute he got injured. A sprained MCL takes 2 months. The NFLE tour is over with only 3 games remaining at injury time.
Even before the injury I thought Henson would be behind the 8-ball going into Camp.
Anyway, No one thought an undrafted free agent in Romo could surpass Henson on the depth chart. I could easily see Jeff Mroz giving a gimpy Henson a run for that 3rd QB spot.
