No blood, no foul, Hos. You did what you could, the NFL in its current form just screwed it up.

I know for a fact that he would like to play here. I stand by that.
I first suggested he was coming here in September of last year. Long before any of the media was speculating it. I have stubbornly clung to this despite repeated denials by the Lions. It has pissed some people off at times. Either they'll forgive me for that or they won't. Not up to me.
You either figure I got lucky or I knew something. Ultimately I guess it doesn't matter because even I just don't see this deal getting done now.
It still could happen. I admit that. Never is a long time and too many things can ruin never. Two days ago I was 90% sure he was going to be our WR opposite TO in 2008. Today I'm 10% sure.
I may be hard headed and obstinate, but even I can look at the recent offers, rebuffs and realize that the price is way too high. It isn't going to happen unless something really amazing breaks the log jam.
So, here's what it boils down to. If the trade happens, I got lucky. If it doesn't there was never anything to it at all and I made up all that stuff and the media all over the nation somehow got wind of it and ran with it.

Good to "see" ya around there Chiefster.

He didn't get all the sacks, but you never saw him get shut down...the QB and the pocket were constantly moving because Haley was always moving towards him.
The guy should have been a walk-in to the HOF imo....I've been a fan since '67, and Haley was the best pass rusher to ever wear the Cowboys uniform.
I want to clarify something.CaptainAmerica;2046332 said:Obviously Jerry has discussed with the Lions exactly what you shared. So for that no one should give you grief.
I just never believed a deal would be that easy. When you see what the Vikings gave up to get Allen it lets you know that trading for a good, vet player will cost you a king's ransom.

They also made an offer to the Cardinals for Bolden and got rebuffed.GimmeTheBall!;2046433 said:I thought it was Chad the Commanders had made an offer for.

I wonder how Jerry feels watching these offers and rejections? It has to be a bit frustrating for him.Jay-D;2046445 said:It is always darkest before the dawn........

I can handle the grief I'll get for this. Mostly I may not share again because I'm beginning to feel like I am jinxing stuff.
I got a tip that we were going to sign Drew Henson. That required making a trade with Houston. I shared with 4 people that Troy Aikman was at his workout with Jerry and we would offer a 3rd round pick to get him. I did not share this with the forum and it happened. A couple of people got pissed that I didn't share it after people found out I knew about it.
I shared with 3 people that Quincy was going to be cut in 2004 unless at TC he was lights out good. It happened. When it came out that I had not posted this, again a couple of people got pissed.
So I posted the info about Brandon Everage working out in Oxnard. That was the very first time I ever shared info that fell in my lap. It didn't happen and a couple of people basically accused me of lying about how I got the info that he was in Oxnard. Occasionally someone still will. I keep asking how I got the info if it wasn't exactly the way I said it was, and there is never an answer. There never is with lace panties drama queens.
Still that fell through.
I've known about this desire by Roy to play here for a long time. Right before Training Camp last year a friend of his told me that he expected 2007 to be Roy's last year as a Lion and he laid out the reasons that I have so doggedly stuck to. He told me I could share the info if I wanted to and in September, I did, but I never elaborated. It wasn't until recently that I did and I immediately wished I had not. Partly because some people always make a huge issue out of that stuff. But mostly because I had a horrible feeling that I just jinxed the deal.
Now it looks like there is no way possible for the deal to happen.
When I share the info with a few people it turns out better than when I share it with everyone. Understand something, I had shared this Roy Williams info with a lot of people via PMs long before I ever posted it. They can verify that for you if they wish. They certainly don't have to.
I would still very much like for this deal to happen as I believe it puts us over the top as the best Offense in the NFL. However, just like with a deal for McFadden which I have openly and emphatically opposed, the price is now too high to do it. It would take a miracle.
So my reticence to share isn't really driven by the crap feedback that always accompanies when people do share this stuff. Mostly it's because I'm beginning to feel like a jinx.
