Sapp and McFarland were both about 300 pounds. Sapp in particular was under 300 when he was younger and still playing well, I'm pretty sure. Though I don't doubt their weight creeped up as they aged and got less effective.Lol I always hear that crap but why do other teams that run a 4-3 have bigger DT’s? I don’t think this team even knows what their “scheme” is.
Look at the giants with Harrison and the Vikings with Joseph. It helps out their DE’s so much. Even on the 2000 Bucs they had McFarland and Sapp .It’s the same scheme but this team doesn’t know how to make it work.
Also, McFarland averaged, like, 2 sacks per season. Our fanbase would've labeled him a bust the second they realized his career-best 6.5-sack season in his 2nd year was a fluky aberration and he's never sniff that kind of number again much less top it.
