You forgot Hatcher. The list is: Hatcher,Carr, Lee and Ware. We have 4 NFL starters on defense.

You're right.

Can't believe I forgot him.

Maybe it was a subconscious thing because I see him gone soon?

I don't care if he is telling me that I am the best looking man in the world, that he is going to give all of his money to me because he admires me so much, tells me every positive thing he can think of me...I would still not want to listen to more than 2 seconds of his over the top annoying voice. SIMPLE as that.

Just because someone does not like that loud mouthed clown it does not mean it is because of what he is saying as opposed to HOW he is saying it.

I wouldn't argue with any of that, but it is exactly why he would be best suited to rip into JJ. Something needs to knock some sense into our GM, having their butt's kicked royally isn't doing it.

The embarrassment of seeing a team I have loved for over 40 years get taken apart live a jr. high team playing against a pro team. It doesn't change my day to day life either but it is rather silly to suggest that. Don't fault those of us who take pride in the Cowboy name. Right now though, that name is a running joke and the pathetic product Jerry is putting on the field is not acceptable. I can take getting beat, been there many times, but being destroyed in not something I can get with.

Don't put stock in it, you're dealing with a kid who can't handle anything negative said about his beloved Cowboys, no matter how true it might be.

One of those whose definition of fandom equals blind, mindless loyalty.

Say anything remotely construed as negative and you'll be sent to the Ignore Zone!

Did you not see that panel of about 16 on ESPN who picked the Cowboys to win? Everyone coddles this franchise. They are just hypnotized by everything about this franchise. And when someone finally steps up and tells the complete truth about this team while others hide behind 5 super bowls 30 years ago, it takes lower parts to do that. And by the way, I'm not speaking down on Women because I mention lower parts, I'm just simply talking about having no fear.

I've never seen anything like it in my life. A team that is historically mediocre over the past 16 plus years, but people constantly find excuses to why they are good. It's pretty amazing, Jerry IS a genius.

I blame myself. The time and brain cells wasted on this is my own fault.

That SA is right is what I hate the most.

I was just watching Woodson on NFL live, he seems to be getting more frustrated as the day goes by. I could just tell by the look on his face and how he spoke.

Neither is being asked the question of stepping down, amazingly enough.

I mean how many times do you need to be asked about stepping down before the thought crosses your feeble mind?

I like Stephen A. Smith. He's a serious journalist, but he's an entertainer too.
If you want straight commentary with no histronics, fine. But if that's the case, I would assume one would not like Cowboys supporters who apply similar histronics but on the side of the ally.
But it seems to me people don't like his histronics because he hates the Cowboys and admits it. At least he's honest.
Personally, I think it's an act, not that he doesn't hate the Cowboys but that he displays it in such a way to rile Cowboys fans.
Apparently, his approach works.

Geez...Guts and manhood... It takes no guts or manhood to talk loud on a sports talk about a player or team.

Uh, yes it does. Many former athletes and current reporters won't challenge players or teams because they would lose their access.
And some players try to intimidate reporters physically.
It may not take the type of guts as it would to fight a war or get in the octagon. But it does take guts to publicly criticize someone who you depend upon for your livelihood.
In fact, a criticism of Stephen A. Smith during his Philadelphia Inquirer days is that he wasn't critical enough of Allen Iverson and a few more basketball players he had become pals with. Apparently, when he left the PI and got the gig on First Take, he developed more of a backbone.

No one loves the Cowboys more than I do, but to close your eyes and plug your ears puts you in the same category as JJ, a denialist. For those of us who lived through the Clint Murchison/Tex Schram/Tom Landry era, we know what a professionally run franchise looks like, and this ain't it. Those teams got beat too at times, but they did not get laughed at because it was so easy, the other team knew they had been in a fight.

Exactly right.

And how many fans took their ball and went home, leaving this great forum rather than facing the inconvenient truth of what this franchise has become under the leadership of this owner and coach?

It shocks me everyday that it's the folks who criticize the underachieving that get the attacks and the venom, rather than those actually responsible for that underachieving and disappointment.

It's shoot the messenger!

Interesting that they keep talking about the team if their irrelevant...

Irrelevant as in "this team hasn't been a threat to win anything" irrelevant, not "this team is not worthy of making fun of" irrelevant. :(

There was a time years ago that I defended JJ. I thought he hated losing as much as I do and would do what was necessary to right the ship. I now see that was a fools dream, and all he cares about is the attention and playing with his favorite toy (The Cowboys) even though that toy is broken.

No it does not take guts to do what he does. Put him as a war time journalist embedded with the troops... That would be guts.

Put him as a journalist in country where reporting on what is going on can get you killed... That takes guts.

Put him on a story that could result in him facing jail time if he does not give up his sources... That takes guts.

Talking loud on a sports show the the paid to talk loud on about a topic that many others have talked about multiple time (Jerry and the Cowboys)... That does NOT take guts or manhood. It is a sad state of affairs where people think a sports journalist... Wait sports Commentator is considered to have guts and manhood because he talks loud and is saying something others have said many times before... Multiple times a day amongst fans.

Yet he has guts!?

As Sherman Potter would say.... HORSE HOCKEY!

Good grief... .. Whoa looks at the danger he puts himself in whether it is physical or career danger by talking loud about Jerry and the cowboys.

I am shocked the man can even walk due to how big his guts and manhood is.

Agree once again.

He's clearly shown that what is most important in his world is being front and center with a microphone in front of him, win or lose.

Winning comes second because if he's not leading that charge, the winning means nothing to him.

So he would rather lose and be a joke, than cede power for the betterment of the franchise.

I think this team has become his entire identity and existence. It has consumed him and he has no life without it.

A form of mental illness.

That would be non-competitive. Not irrelevant.

Not necessarily.

Irrevelant - Having no applications or effects in a specific circumstance.

If the circumstance is a discussion on Super Bowl worthy teams, then the Cowboys would be irrelevant to any such conversation.

Most in hear a angry at Stephen A Smith but he is only speaking the truth. Direct your anger at Jerry Jones for the circus he has brought to this city. Once a proud organization, he has turned this team into the laughing stock of the NFL.

I didn't realize having guts was limited to being in a war?

I think there are levels of guts just like there are levels of bravery.
