Listen friend, you don't know what I thought or felt last year, so don't act like you do.

You may want to get your facts straight.

I never felt or said I thought they were doing it because it is the Cowboys, nor do I think that.

I didn't watch or listen to the Iggles PC's last year, or ever, so I didn't have the background knowledge that I have with regard to what is going on here. So when it wasn't directed towards us I was not involved. That's why I wouldn't have been complaining.

Plus, with the Iggles, there was confrontation between the players, the coach, etc. It was common knowledge.

None of that is going on here. He is injured, nothing more, nothing less.

But yet they twist the entire situation and try to make it controversial.

When I want to display my displeasure at the inaccuracies coming from the media I will whether you want to read it or not, so save your wah wah's.

i was talking generics, not "let's pick on WV". if you want to get caught up in the media frenzy - go ahead. but from my own point of view you're simply feeding the fire you hate - and i don't get that.

And what is up with Clayton's hair. He's got a little on top, and you can see some in the back, but the sides are shaved??

Looks like McQuistan's hair, post-hazing

I lost some respect for McQuistan, a bad ars would not allow his teammates to mess him up like that. :laugh2: A reverse Mohawk looks pretty bad on the Mc'ster

So you're saying that what I do, say, or feel has an impact on the media ?? I don't think so.

Is it too much to ask to expect the media to stick to facts ?
How will Owens ever clear himself, or his name, or attempt to prove to people that he is trying to change if they rip him like they have over him pulling a hamstring ???

Oh, BTW, when you directed your post to me, maybe I was wrong, but I felt you were directing your post to me.

1. if it's in retaliation to the "media" sure. you know why the media "lies"? to get a reaction. good/bad they don't care, both sell. bad a whole lot more. go figure.
2. apparantely.
3. how will owens clear his name? by realizing his own actions made him this type of a target and for him to stop doing the LOOK AT ME dance everywhere and in time, they will. but not as long as he keeps acting up, they keep blowing it out of proportion, and people buy into it one way or another.

and yea, i do reply at times to what you're thinking and i understand that can come out wrong, or like "to you". sorry about that - not what i had in mind.

and all that is a part of the entire TO package.

TO = drama.
Press = selling the drama
avg. fan1 = what wasn't personal now is - we must fight for justice where we never thought to before
avg. fan2 = still hates TO and understands all the crap going on now is just part of the overall reasons why they hated him to begin with. some of this will do the "quickdraw" (proclaim self worth over obvious predictions) and do the I TOLD YOU SO and some will sasy "worth a shot" and the rest won't care and will be glad it's over.
avg. fan3 = hopefull TO can and will turn it around and puts faith in BP and/or his "last chance" will keep him in line where it never could before. they're moreso the "worthashot" type also.

in the end w/TO you get:
1) arguably one of the most gifted WR's in our time
2) an arrogant SOB who crybabies his way to what he wants
3) one of the hardest working WR's in the game
4) a media target due to his given talent and knack for wanting to be the bad boy which will only get the media frothing at the mouth to outdo each other to give you the slop we see now (of which i don't deny)
5) a legitimate threat on the field at all times
6) someone who like it or not has a habit of poo'ing on teams and again, due to his talents both on the field at out of the mouth, he is the media darling for a story and all we will hear about regardless of which team hs's on. being on america's team *does* kick it up a notch.

none of this can be seperated. whining about the media as if it will help i just don't get. to me it only adds fuel to the fire so to speak and if you really want them to tone it down, quit taking the bait.

yet daily we hear how unfair the media is and fans from all sides whine about it.

sorry, when we took TO onto the team, we took the good and the bad. expecting the world to change cause it effects us now is just a tad unrealistic.

Very good summation. I think I am somewhere between avg fan 2 & 3. I have got a bit of both in me I guess. Although I have gotten rid of my dislike for T.O. more than I thought I would and now just take a bit of comedy out of the whole situation!

IB, see what I'm saying, .. Owens has not done anything like he was accused of in SF or Philly. He hasn't.

So up until now I feel that the media has nothing to say about him along the lines of SF or Philly.

But yet they do.

It makes you wonder, what would they have made up had he not been injured ??

If he says or does something detrimental to or about the Cowboys, like it SF or Philly, I will be the first to blast him, ... but he has not !!!

I don't think it is too much to expect the media to report the facts.
And if there is no story, look elsewhere until you find one.

If they are going to rip Owens for something like pulling a hamstring, then he will never be able to change what people think. Never !

If he does something, he should hear about it, .. if he doesn't, he shouldn't have to defend himself to the media putzes.

Get real !! You're kidding, right ?/

You think that was bad ??

That was all in fun, sort of poking fun at himself for only riding a bike and not being able to practice, since the world bike champ was in the news and all.

Pro athletes do crazy stuff all the time. I see it in other sports too. I've seen baseball players putting bubble gum bubbles on their teammates hat during the game.

They play jokes on each other and do crazy things all of the time.

They shaved rookies heads in Dallas.

If that is the best you got then you are as much a vulture as the media.

The bike thing is not a controversial event like took place in Philly.

How can you blame the media...they're just doing their jobs, which are made easier by the stupidity and ego's of both T.O. and Parcells.

Simple story and answer to every question:

T.O...."yep, the hamstring is still giving me trouble...don't know when I'll play...I'm working on it...just one of those things that takes time."

Parcells...."That player is injured...he has a hamstring problem...working with trainers...they'll let me know when he's ready...nope, not worried...why worry, can't control it...just want him back healthy."

But no...that's too easy...as long as Parcells and T.O. have to be the center of attention and get their press, or in Parcells' situation, get at press, they will both continue to say stupid, unnecessary things, showing their frustration or defensiveness, and giving the media more "fun and controversial" things to write about...I'm sorry...yes, the media is generating this and keeping it alive, but if Parcells and T.O. simply shut up and gave the simple truth answer to any question related to the injury, there would be no story.

Just my opinion.

So someone speculating about your favorite teams makes you want to commit violence.

Who's the real "idiot"? ;)

I wouldnt have a problem with them speaking the truth nor speculating on a conservative level. But to come out and totally invent/Create something up just to sell is Complete BULL!.

What happened in Philly is nothing like this. behind the sceens something wasnt right But Here in Dallas there isnt a damn thing going on. Their taking an INjury to spark the fire and turn things around, switch words around and ask questions that lead to nothing more heated debate about " I told you so".

Call me a Idiot all you want, I know what I see and it's straight up WRONG!.

Actually Parcells has taken that route and the worst thing that Owens has said was that he has a ten years of film on himself to help evaluate.

This garbage about him being mad about being 'rushed' back to practice has yet to be quoted ANYWHERE yet they still post that drivel.

Bottomline is that as long as he is not lying about the injury or ragging on his teammates or coaches, there is no story. Its really friggin annoying.

I am there with you in the sense that I can't put this at the feet of the media. Quite frankly, this looks like the type of tug-o-war you'll see from time to time between a coach and vet. Nothing more.

This issue has legs because each side has a staunch history. That is not to say I believe Owens is laying down on the job during camp. He very well may be injured. I don't know. But I can certainly understand the skepticism.

If you honestly believe it's the media that may stir this situation into oblivion, then this club has much bigger concerns within. Any team allowing that to become a divisive force would be better served to ignore playoff aspirations.

Coverage shouldn't bother any of us to that extent. It really should not.

Thats is his stupid problem. He cannot keep his mouth shut, but draws even more attetion to himself because he is an attention *****.

So, again, you still want to blame the media for it.

Let him keep his big mouth shut and the media has NOTHING!!

I originally laughed at the Discovery thing, but he just brings this crap on himself.

I just wish everyone would drop their preconceived opinions about Owens and base their opinion of him on what he has done since he has been here.

The Dallas fans that haven't and won't give him a chance are the ones that irritate me the most.

So far he has (1) hurt his hamstring and (2)wore a bike shirt to mock himself.

But the media has turned that into (1) raped a nun, and (2) slit his grandmothers throat.

And then some Dallas fans scream, "Get rid of the nun-raping, grandma-murdering piece of ... "

You get the picture.
