I hate the Skins and Sean Taylor BUT...

Yes, it was a heck of a hit, but the sensationalism of it goes down when you realize that the hit was on a punter.

I had the opposite reaction. I kept thinking "what an idiot." It's the pro bowl. What happens if the punter twists his knee or breaks a bone? There's a reason that was the only "big hit" laid yesterday. No one else was even trying -- and for good reason.

The memo that said players should only go half speed?
Gee, the all means, don't display your skills, talents and drive in a game that is supposed TO SHOWCASE them!!!

Yeah, hard hits should be outlawed in the Pro Bowl.

I might be wrong, because I never played the game...but, I heard that the likelyhood of injury is when you DON'T play full speed.

Anyone ever heard that before?

I loved the hit, just wish Lil Bill would have gotten laid out for calling it!

But I'm sure you cheered when Roy Williams laid out Todd Heap

what's wrong with running a trick play in an exhibition game?
Thats the point. It's supposed to entertain, not be a real game. Playing for real would be boring. I wanna see evry trick in the book during the PB. It might be the only opportunity to run some of that stuff and see what happens.

Taylor's a ******* for that hit because the guy getting hit isn't prepared for it. Roy was different because Chad J. was running his mouth and Roy told him he was going to hit him hard. Were it not for that, then Roy would be out of line, too.

That's what I thought Moorman might be doing when he went out on the field...

"Taylor...is that all you got? Next time hit me harder...you pusss"!

Then he trotted back to the sideline...

That's what I saw....anyway, I bet Taylor is WAY proud of that hit!
:laugh2:

Sorry, that was an awesome hit. No two ways about it.

Moorman got right back up though, give the guy credit for being a warrior.

Not really. After the game, he told Marshall Faulk that he could have lit up Reggie Wayne but he didn't because Wayne is his boy from the U and he doesn't count his hit on Moorman because hes a punter, so ST wasn't really too proud of his hit.

I even doubt he knew it was the punter when he laid out that hit.

Whaaaaaaa?
Moorman could have easily stepped out of bounds on that play but he decided to cut back to the inside to get the 1st down. The NFC defense didnt appreciate it. :)

that hit he put on Buffalo's punter yesterday was PRICELESS.:D Typical Belicheck, getting cute and running a fake punt in an all star game. What an A-hole. Almost backfired on him too.;)
What most people didn't notice was, like during the season, Taylor was so trying to deliver the "hit", he let Palmer throw over him repeatedly for long completions. Taylor can't perform his #1 responsibility first. Protect the deep middle.

I notice safety's that can't cover all the time my friend. We have one ourselves-or two-or three.:banghead: ( I was simply pointing out it was entertaining watching that hit, I don't disagree about Taylor's coverage skills)

exactly.

you cant have it both ways- gushing over trick plays then crushing players who dish out big hits. its still a football game- moorman could have gone out of bounds and chose not to.

I bet getting a clean hit on a punter or kicker is every NFL defencive players dream
