I LOVE MY COWBOYS
BUT
I hate the way this team was constructed...
A Washed up - un-Godly Slow QB - with a propensity for throwing the big INT (see the Seattle game last season)
A thrown together OL patched with beatup stiffs like Fabini and bloated do - nothings like Rivera....
Two 32 plus year old WR's One who is a complete headjob who took a crap on the Star NOT TOO LONG AGO! :bang2: One who has no respect for his teammates or coaches - the other WR is a Great Deep threat but has trouble taking the KO HIT over the middle due to him being only slightly taller than fire hydrant.
Then on the D Side aka the GOOD side we still have that GIANT hole at Cover Safety.
The offeseason? Where to start - the draft was BRUTAL - not that who we took aren't talented BUT we needed Top Shelf OL's ! TOP SHELF - especially with LA leaving and Rivera and Pettitti being slugs and Gurode getting leaped frogged against the NYG.
I have NO FAITH in this club and I'd be shocked if we won 6 games. I forsee the OL collapsing terribly and Tony Romo being put in by Week 7-8.
Is anyone really surprised by TO's antics? I mean really ...comeon...this had disaster written all over it. Andy Reid is a GREAT Coach and he couldn't handle this clown. Wakeup.
Ok, step away from the ledge
1) QB- please find for me where the rule is that you have to be mobile to be a good QB. I've never seen that. Bledsoe is mobile in the pocket and that's good enough for me. He was 8th in the NFL in pass yards, 9th in pass tds after losing his LT after week 6. Before flo went down he had the highest passer rating in the NFL.
2) OL- Rivera was a probowler in 03 and 04, do you think he just forgot how to block in 05? Let's wait to see him play a full healthy year before passing judgement. Fabini has played horrible before coming here, I still quesion that signing.
3) With Owens, we all hated what he did with the star, and most people didn't want him to come here. We'll have to wait and see how he plays this season before we say this was a bad signing. He disrespected the star and I'll always hate that about him, but I think he can do a lot of good things for us.
Glenn was one of the best deep threats last year, and you hate him because he can't go over the middle. So that only makes him....just like most other wrs in the league. That's why we have 2 pass catching te's, I'll let them do that.
4) We have a hole at cover saftey, but I wouldn't say it's a giant hole. People forget how good Roy was at coverage when Darren played. We'll have to see what we can get from Watkins or Coleman. I think we have a patch for that hole now. Hopefully in a few years watkins will be able to fill that hole.
5) The loss of LA I think will be an upgrade. Kosier was the #1 OT FA in sportingnews, and he's done very well in camp so far, so I think he'll be an upgrade with how he can play. Where was that "top shelf" OLineman going to be found. Did you want to trade up for D'Brick? I don't think so. Parcells wasn't going to draft Mangold at Center because with his "3 year rule" he's not going to give up on Johnson. None of the other players I'd really consider "top shelf". They were all pretty good, but no certain thing.
Petitti played
like a rookie last year, and even so he played pretty well. Through week 14 he only allowed 8 sacks. That's 8 games after flo went down, 8 games after he stopped getting the tight end help, 8 games where he had to face Strahan, Kearse, and Bryce Fisher. Petitti will get much better this year. Just wait until after someone's rookie year to consider them so bad.
This should be a very good team this year. It will be defense and running dominated. Expect the playoffs.
