I hear ya, but I dunno if that's a fair statement. At the end of the day, sure it goes down as a loss by less than a TD.

But we gave up 17 pts in 12 minutes in the 4th quarter. When they bring up all those "close loss" stats, the context is kind of ignored. That's a bad loss, a lot worse than "we lost by 3".

Not really. It's tougher on us fans, I'll grant you. But it's still a loss where avoiding one negative play (goal line fumble, stupid pick, blocked punt, blown coverage where Jenkins was knocked out), or making one more good play (Witten into the endzone, or Ball's near pick) is the difference between a win and a loss. Our season is going to come down to a dozen or so plays like these that make the difference between 11-5 and 8-8. We missed out on a golden opportunity to get ahead of the game last night.

We would not have even been remotely in that game without Romo.

Check back in at the end of the year and see if ANY QB throws for about 340 with 2 TDs and pick at the Jets. Brady may do it...but i doubt it.

No doubt that was really boneheaded play at the end, but Romo had a good game overall.

So the jets are going 16-0 now? Apparently it'll take a Hall of fame effort to beat their Defense.

Someone is going to beat this team, and they are going to do it with a subpar game, and it's not going to be just Brady. The W is all that matters. Whether you pass for 400 or just hand the ball off, if you can't win then it's all for nothing.

BTW someone hit the nail on the head, Favre basically did the same thing to the Vikings. Got them crazy far in the regular season, got them to the cusp of the Super Bowl, and then threw the ball inexplicably away.

A 40 year old QB never changing his ways. I don't have time to sit here and wait for Romo to retire, 6 years has been a long time he should get it by now. This guy should be ready to go.

also it's funny that people say it could be worse... well last year was pretty rotten with Romo and not much to be excited about without him. That's why I expected better. What's the point in having a "good" QB if he can't keep his head in the game ever?

To me this says it all. Alot of people over the years have commented on how Danny White was underrated. I think he probably was. But it's because he played for the Cowboys. Romo walks around with all this swagger because he's the QB for the Dallas Cowboys. Well I'm sorry. Until he wins something he might as well be the Bengals QB or the Cardinals QB or play for a team with that kind of history. He certainly couldn't shine the shoes of Staubach or Aikman.

Danny White couldn't get it done and he'l always be remembered that way. But White consistently got us FARTHER than Romo has. The losses in the playoffs are often contributed to by Romo's poor play.

I think it would be MOST prudent to get a guy on our roster to groom as his replacement if the front office doesn't believe that Mcgee is the guy, because I dont' know if Romo will ever be as good as Danny White.

I, for the most part, agree with what you have said here. The exception is the line "Danny couldn't get it done." Well White had a lot of help in the "not getting it done" department. Those three Championship loses (and Danny was out of the Commanders game by the half) were more than just Danny losing. How in the hell do you allow the Forty-Niners to drive 80 yards in the final 3 minutes. That was on Landry. Everyone wants to remember Danny's fumble on the final Dallas play, but I keep seeing Drew being a two fingers tackle from breaking away for the winning score, a tackle that by today's rules would be a horse-collar penalty. The Philly loss the year before was on the entire team. How about Tony Dorsett disappearing that day? Montgomery ran wild on the Dallas defense. Danny had a bad game in Philly, but he wasn't alone.
Revisionist history lays the blame all on Danny and says he "couldn't win the big one." Those who accutally watched him play, know better

Favre did win a Super Bowl though.

And I did not say the Jets would run the table. I didn't even say they would or would not make the playoffs. I just said that in New York, good luck finding a QB (other than Brady) that plays much better than ours did last night. The horrible play was the throw in Revis' direction at that point in the game---that was just dumb.
