Good to know.

Initially, I thought I didn't want to know, but you're right, .. it's good to know for future reference.

Sometimes it amazes me the things people do, ... like a grown man driving around crying when Ware was released, ... but even more amazing to me is that they turn around and tell everyone what they did.

Some things are better kept to yourself.

Like the time a guy I used to work with told us all that he sat down with his son when he turned 13, and took him through a Hustler magazine page by page. Or when he told us when he jerked his other son's diaper off and lit him up when he couldn't get to sleep on Christmas eve.

First, I couldn't believe he did those things, .. but mostly couldn't believe he told everyone that he did.

Maybe it's just me.

I was relieved--it was time to turn the page for both Ware and the Cowboys--if he has 20 sacks, I won't regret the move but I'll be happy for Ware

Just good old mild fun... so don't take it as an insult.

It wouldn't matter if he has 3 sacks or 23. The cap hit was too high to gamble on him. Losing Ware is not going to be a difference maker for this team going to the Super Bowl. I sure haven't shed a tear over Ware or any other Cowboy leaving . I don't understand the emotional attachment.

Many fans are emotionally attached to players. That is why they can't be truly objective when talking about said players.

One of Jerry's biggest faults is his own emotional attachment to players. He truly does consider his team the Cowboy family, and he therefore overvalues and pays too much for some of them, and frequently hangs on for too long. He seems to always have an eye on history and player legacies that he wants to unfold in Dallas.
I believe he thinks his own legacy hinges on that glory and the number of HOF players he can claim, thereby elevating him to the HOF as well.

Most of us would agree that he needs to take only one line from his old friend Al Davis: "Just win, baby". If he could stay objective and create a consistent winner, all historical accolades will follow.

The last time the Cowboys made me cry was in '73 when the Vikings beat them in the NFC championship game. I was 11 years old though.

I hate the fact the NFL is like it is today. If you had no FA and no cap this is not an issue and just like guys of the past such as Lilly or Randy White, Ware would still be a Cowboy. Todays business in the NFL is different, teams are not like family any longer they come and go. The thought of seeing Bob Lilly or Randy White in another uniform is something i was glad I never had to see.

Right, would not be good.
Mr. Cowboy would not be Mr. Cowboy, Roger, Captain Comeback would not be Captain of America's Team's beginnings. It would just not be right.

It's called actually being a fan. Something fake fan trolls like you and jnday wouldn't know anything about.

Gotcha! Maintaining objectivity in regards to decisions regarding players makes you a "fake fan troll". Landry avoided attachment to players because he realized the time would come when the team would have to move on. Keeping a young, healthy, affordable Ware for all eternity would have been great but this is real life and he is none of those. Because someone doesn't share your particular outlook or opinion doesn't make his allegiance any less genuine.

It is the main thing about FA and the cap I just hate about this game.

Many of Landry players played their entire careers in Dallas they were not shipped out to other teams. Yes there were some trades but by and large the player movement around the league was non existent. Granted you can't do that today, with a cap in place you can't afford to hold on to players making big money if they are not producing as they did before.

The day DeMarcus Ware was released as a Dallas Cowboy I shed a tear. I rode around for a few hours and cried when I got home and my gf asked what was wrong I said it was allergies. It was time to move on though.

No tears for me. I honestly took it as a positive and I own Ware's jersey. Jerry Jones over the years has kept the Cowboys in perpetual cap hell as a result of paying players for what they have done and not what they are going to do. I'm not saying Ware won't have a good season, but given all the needs this team has across the board, he would have absorbed to much of the pie this season, as well several seasons to come.

Don't let any of the haters get you down, especially the older ones who are too weak to admit they cried when Roger retired, or Landry was fired.
