I just think the prospect of building something that is better than hired guns we see today. I also think overall depth was better on these teams because guys would have to sit behind starters but they understood the system they had worked in the system they were experianced. I do understand the flip side of the coin but to me those players and those teams around the NFL is what built this league and without it I don't think the same type of loyalty fans have would be the same.

Paraphrasing a quote from Jerry Seinfield, we are fans of laundry at this point. As much as I hate to admit it, there is alot of truth to that statement. But for some odd reason, it still works for me. I absolutely love football, but the only uniform that get's my undivided come gameday is, and always will be, the Cowboys.

I have noticed that some of the fans on this board are like some parents. They are quick to judge other parents and how they raise their children, but they fail to be honest about how they are raising their own children. Their child may be a brat, but they will defend the child even when the child is wrong instead of being honest with themselves and wanting to see the child corrected. Emotions can blind a fan to reality in many cases.

That's a nice story but you are still not a fan of this team. Doesn't mean you are wrong (though you usually are). It doesn't mean your opinion is not valid (it usually isn't). It just means you're not a fan. If I pull up your profile and read your posts but change your name to "Commander joe" then they read perfectly. Having said that, compared to your hero ufcrules1 you are practically Rowdy on the fan scale.

Dez is the only player that shows his emotions on the field and he gets bashed for it. It is easy to tell that losing hurts him. I don't see another player on the team that plays with the passion and desire to win that he does.

It really does infuriate me that certain mediots locally and nationally destroy Dez for wearing his heart on his sleeve, but in another column/segment, berate the Cowboys for not seeming to care.

I still love the game as well I just miss the days when teams as I said where like family. The bonds formed with guys like Water and Harris were tight and you could say that about a lot of the guys who spent 13 and 14 years with each other. I hate the business end of the NFL but the game I still love it more than any sports out there.

I started to open Jnday's (no relation that I know of, by they way) profile to test your theory, but before I got there I noticed he has more than twice as many messages contributed, with almost twice as many likes than you do. So if he is a troll, he is the most committed troll ever.

I get that it can be tiresome at times if you want to be optimistic and see threads that you feel are pessimistic; the best thing you can do is ignore them, unless of course you feel you have an argument that actually counters what they believe...otherwise don't bother.

I said it in another thread, this "your not a fan argument" is tired. If you want to debate/disagree with his opinion, counter it - don't attack his right to be here. He has as much of right to contribute on this board as you do.

Or younger - "My daddy's bigger than your daddy." I really wish some posters would take their toys and go home, so-to-speak, if that is the only way they know how to debate.

I don't care what label you use to describe me. If being a fan means being dishonest with myself, and following your line of thinking, I guess I am not. I have wasted over 40 years. Oh well, I can have honest football discussions with UFC. I have never had a conversation with the guy, but at least he is not blinded by emotions. As for opinions, you disagree with mine. So what? As for me being wrong on every topic, you clearly like fairy tales instead of results. Use the ignore feature on the non-fans such as myself.

Naw last time I cried over a game Dallas lost to the Commanders in the NFC Championship and I was watching it with 2 Commander fans. Of course did not cry in front of them. lol

I agree until the attacks on players stat becoming personal. Things like Ware sucks and I'm glad we got rid of him I admit hacks me off, the guy brought it he gave a lot to this team and at least in my view deserves a little respect. Dallas did the right thing as I stated before and Ware did the right thing as well. But for some to make personal attack on him yeah some will defend Ware out of the respect they have for him.

I'm very appreciative of Ware's time here in Dallas. But my loyalty to Ware immediately stopped when he signed with Denver. He's not on my team anymore, and I'm hoping Denver fails miserably.

Dez wants to win and it shows. I like that attitude and wish other players played with his desire to win.

At the end of the day, I respect your response. Being a fan is not a requirement of participating here. I wish you wouldn't troll as much but that's life. I don't believe in using the ignore feature even though I know it works for some.

I agree, the comments that this guy sucks or that guy sucks really gets old. If a poster doesn't like a player, state the reason why. It can easily be a good discussion.

The day DeMarcus Ware was released as a Dallas Cowboy I shed a tear. I rode around for a few hours and cried when I got home and my gf asked what was wrong I said it was allergies. It was time to move on though.

I have a confession to make too. When we cut Ware, I was dancing in the streets. It felt like Jerry was FINALLY starting to get it, you don't keep old, overpaid players around. Having said that, the guy is definitely one of the best Cowboys to ever play the game, and should be a no-brainer for the RoH.

Ware becomes like the guy who leaves a business then people dump on them after they are gone. lol Ware is a good man and has been a very good player for this team. Circumstances and of course the NFL cap dictated the move more than anything. I'm not becoming a Denver fan any time soon, I wish him the best and appreciate his time and effort in Dallas

One of Jerry's biggest faults is his own emotional attachment to players. He truly does consider his team the Cowboy family, and he therefore overvalues and pays too much for some of them, and frequently hangs on for too long. He seems to always have an eye on history and player legacies that he wants to unfold in Dallas.
I believe he thinks his own legacy hinges on that glory and the number of HOF players he can claim, thereby elevating him to the HOF as well.

Most of us would agree that he needs to take only one line from his old friend Al Davis: "Just win, baby". If he could stay objective and create a consistent winner, all historical accolades will follow.

You have been paying attention. I wish all of our other fans would do the same!
