I have a feeling Spencer will be traded on draft day

I'm sorry, I just can't picture him on the roster going forward. On draft day I think a 3-4 team will offer picks for him when they can't get the player(s) who are targeted for the position. From JJ standpoint, its kind of a win, win...we really have no idea how he'll transition back to the 4-3 so we can get younger (and possibly alot better) with a more prototypical player for his position in a 4-3 defense. He has proven he has the skillset to be an elite talent as a 3-4 DE. With us only having 6 picks this draft, I don't see us turning down say a 2nd and 6th..no way..thoughts??

Spencer was a 4-3 DE in college. I don't understand why everybody thinks he has to stay in a 3-4?

Its because of his size because he's not as big as Jared Allen or Justin Tuck but Spencer is the least of my concern. I'm not against trading him but i'm also not worried about him making the NFL transition to OLB to DE. I would've been more worried about DE to OLB.

He was an OLB in the 3-4, not DE. I believe he will do fine in the 4-3 DE spot though, I'm hoping for 8+ sacks from him this year...

Having said that if a stud DE falls to us in the first 2 rounds I would pull the trigger...:D

If you can get a 2nd a 6th, sure. But do you really think we could get that?

Do you like Werner?

How is a player traded on draft day, if the team trading for him, can't give him a physical? It rarely happens.

If Werner falls to us, you pull the trigger if you can get a 2nd for him, then you draft Warford in the 2nd to address the Oline.

If they got a 2nd for him, they would likely do it.

Jerry has already said that players have the least trade value on draft day and before the draft. Since teams feel they can always fill needs during the draft. Players have value during the season and after injuries during TC.

How bout a more realistic question: If a beast DE falls to us, do we draft him and trade Spencer after the draft for a pick in 2014?

Spencer will be Cowboy this season and I believe he will put up huge numbers this year. I for one am happy Spencer is on this team. I wouldn't trade him for no less than a first round pick. And since that's not gonna happen then I am perfectly happy keeping him. You ain't gonna replace him with anyone better at this point.

Trade back with S. F.

Dallas 18 + 47+ Spencer

For

S.F. 31,34,61,74

Dallas pick values= 1330
S.F. pick values = 1672

Difference in pick values = 342 with S.F. being long that much. So, SF would be getting Spencer for a end of 2nd round value(56th approx.)

SF would get their 18th pick(T. Austin,K. Vacarro, T. Eifert, Tank Carradine, etc.) plus a solid 47th pick plus Spencer. Dallas would gain 2 picks in rounds with very solid players and get good value for Spencer and reduce the Cap by $10+M

Win/Win situation for each team, I think.

0% chance that Jerry trades away one of his guys, just not his style.
