I have a sick gut feeling Cowboys are going to trade Barber

Ah tell you what.

Parcells knows Ricky won't last forever and that Cadillac guy has had injury problems.

Sure jerra loves Barber but he also loves the limelight that a blockbuster trade might bring.

I would love to see (just to see) just what Parcells might be willing to give up for "his guy" Barber.

If that is too much for some here to digest, tough Schlitz. But again, it would be fun to see now much Parcells might want to give up in terms of drafts/or trades.

Choice & Jones = Hambrick.

Let's go back in time and tell ourselves again that Hambrick is as good as Emmitt.

A back-up is just that, a back-up. Someone benefiting from the starter not being out there.

If Brad Johnson goes back out there and suddenly defenses stop trying to contain our QB, why is that?

If TO gets hurt or cut, and a 2nd string replacement goes out there and suddenly he's not being double-teamed and getting free, why is that?

If Tashard Choice is out there and suddenly no 8 man defensive fronts are being thrown at him, why is that?

Also, why did QB protection break down so badly late last year? If Choice is so dang good, why wasn't he back there protecting his QB's *** like Barber would have been?

Barber is the clear-cut starter and getting all the money for a reason, and we need to stop fooling ourselves as to why.

Bring in a guy like Ricky to replace Barber, and I'm not so uneasy. Whatever we do though, we can't backstep into this thinking Choice or Jones are the answer if Barber were to go. However, those two could continue doing what they're doing behind a guy like Ricky. And perhaps maybe even in time grow into that roll of one day being a starter on this team.

Whatever though, we need a bona-fide starting RB on this team, and as of now I only see 1.

No team is going to give up a lot for a role RB. They're a dime a dozen. A new one is being released every day.

Braveheart and RS12 are right on: contract means he's a cowboy for a LONG time. Great if healthy.........

No thanks on Ricky. You never know when his little habit will pop up again.

This place is awesome.

Romo and garret suck and now barber should be traded to make the team better.

Right now all we have are two backs that couldn't make it through the year and a rookie that showed flashes.

Stop worrying. It won't happen. RB's are a dime a dozen in the draft.

Just another illustration of how poorly this franchise is operated.

RBs are a dime a dozen. Look around the league at how many teams have 2 or 3 good ones. Yet Jerry Jones, in all his wisdom, gives one RB a $45M contract, and drafts another in the 1st round. Considering how fragile the average RB is and how easy they are to find, that's 2 huge resources - a big contract and a 1st rounder - spent on what are basically role players.

That's not to say I don't like both players. I'm a big fan of both. I just think it's foolish to give huge $ to any RB. Check what's happened to LT after he got big $. And as much fun as Felix is to watch, look at the good RBs that teams have picked up after the 1st round in recent years. In fact, the Cowboys appear to have found a keeper in the 4th round themselves.

I feel the cowboys are goin to trade barber (eventually), reason being we have three good rb's on our hands and some teams don't have any decent rb's ( ravens, lions, and couple others). And with f.jones, and choice being as young and as good as they are jerry is not going to be willing to trade either away, i wish we can keep all three but 1's got to go eventually and i'm going to dread that day.
i believe it will b t. choice b 4 they will get rid of mb 3 it would b idiotic to trade mb 3.

I would hate to get rid of any of our backs but I also understand to get someone of quality you must be willing to trade a quality player in return.

Agreed. But if anyone goes its Choice.

Barber is proven.
Felix has shown flashes already.

it wont happen for salary cap reasons but I would take a number 1 for him in heart beat. His running style leads to a short career (think Earl Campbell) and running back is a plug and play position in the NFL. (think Denver)

Think Troy Hambrick, Julius Jones, Eddie George, etc.

Dallas finally has a RB who they can lean on and people want to trade the guy away for an unproven college player.

I have a sick gut feeling that there's not another team in the NFL who would take on his salary.

Trust me, everyone loved MBIII and envied the Cowboys for what he brought to the table for 4th round money.

No one loves MBIII or envies the Cowboys for this RB and the money he now makes....how much you pay a guy has a lot to do with his value. Two years ago MBIII was the stock everyone wanted...now he's the stock no one would be able to unload at the same buying price.

Think Herschel Walker. If we can get anything close (somewhere in the ballpark..realizing the Herschel trade was an anomaly)to the value we got for Herschel then I will wish MB3 well and move on with additional value gained at current positions of need.
