Dak's 2017 QB Rating vs Wentz 2016 QB Rating.

Dak - 86.6
Wentz - 79.3

Dak's 2016 QB Rating vs Wentz 2017 QB Rating.

Dak - 104.9
Wentz - 101.9

EAT THIS DEADGLES FANS.
Not to question a fellow fan, but how about comparing QB ratings year to year instead of cherry picking it so Dak looks better both years? You bash Eagle fans for homerism but your comparison is homerism in capital letters. Frankly, you look stupid.

I think it’s too hard to tell with Eli and Dak. Dak had 3-4 pro bowlers on the O line and possibly the best RB in the league. When a guy went down and he had ONE bad left tackle he went downhill quick. He had a hard time making multiple reads and dealing with pressure. If he played behind the same O line as Eli, with the same RB’s, does anyone in their right mind think he would have been half the QB he was his first season?

On the other hand, give Eli that same O line and RB Dak has had and he wouldn’t be nearly as bad as he seems to be. I’m not saying Eli hasn’t taken a turn for the worse but it’s almost impossible to say that with any conviction under the circumstances.

Likewise, I’m also not sold on Dak for similar reasons...one of them has been playing behind one of the worst O lines and running games for the past 5-6 years and the other has been playing behind one of the best O lines and running games in the NFL for the past 2 years. Is it just coincidence that the higher “ranked” QB is the one with possibly the best O line and the lower “ranked” is the one with the worst? I think not, I don’t think we truly know how much Eli still has and we probably won’t know more about Dak until this O line isn’t top 5 in the NFL anymore which may be awhile.

Funny enough, I seen a lot of 'cowboys fans' making excuses when Dak outplayed Wentz in their rookie seasons. Dak is called a 'system qb', in fact, may times by 'cowboys fans', but Wentz got injured and the Eagles didn't miss a beat during post season. 4 different qbs couldn't win a game as a starter with Romo out, but Dak is a system qb. Wentz goes out, Foles comes in and Foles is still dropping 38 to 40 points on some of the best teams in the league.

Isn't that essentially the definition of a fantastic system? When your replacement comes in and it's almost as if you weren't even gone? I'd love to see how Wentz would do here without Zeke, since we wouldn't have Zeke if he was drafted here and stuck in an outdated, utterly predictable Jason Garrett offense.

Eli is better than Dak as he should be being a two time super bowl winner and a veteran on his way out of the league. Why is having an O line a knock on Dak and not a knock on Tom Brady who has always had great O lines and the greatest head coach to play this game? Why isn't having a fantastic O line a knock on wentz? The Philly O line was better than Dallas's O line last year. They also had a fantastic run game with Jay Ajayi leading the charge. They also had a much better defense

A for Brady, please. Once Dak wins 5 Super Bowls get back to me, in the meantime I’m not even going to answer such a ridiculous question.

Wentz on the other hand is a fair question and I should have brought him up in my original post. Like you said, the same question can be asked about Wentz, but for me personally, I feel like I’ve seen Wentz make a lot of throws more consistently that Dak wouldn’t or couldn’t. Also, if people want to use Zeke missing as an excuse for Dak’s poor performance that’s fine but Wentz doesn’t have Zeke so how on earth did he still manage to win games?

I'm not comparing Dak to Brady. Brady is clearly better... the real question is having a great O line is somehow a knock on Dak, but it's not a knock on Brady who has always had a great O line and the refs protecting him.

Jay Ajayi averaged 5.8 yards a game with Philly. Zeke averaged 4.1 yards a carry with Dallas and wasn't available most of the season. Philly's O line was better than Dallas's last year. They have a young, dominant tight end and a great receiving core. They had one of the best defenses in the league. They have a head coach who is aggressive and actually creates innovative offensive schemes. We have a head coach who couldn't get out of the second round with historically great players at their positions like TO, Romo, Witten, Demarco Murray, Dan Bailey, Demarcus Ware. Once Wentz went out, Philly was still putting up 30+ and even 40+ points in the playoffs against some of the best defenses in the league.

If you look at this question and don't consider anything but QB talent (arm strength, pocket presence,, anticipation, reading defense, reaction time to what is happening around you) Dak is the least talented QB in the division. But when you look at everything together, the team, how they use him, what he can do with his legs, I think he can be successful. We can argue about Dak's talent level all day, I know some on here think he is ultra talented. But here is the thing, you take a QB like Wentz, and can put him in any system and he will be a good qb, whether it's a down field passing attack, WCO, run heavy, etc. With Dak, you have to build a team around him and not expect him to do to much for him to be successful. As far as the folks harping on his accuracy numbers, good lord man, he should be in the 68-70% range consistently. When the run game is strong, all he needs to do is play catch with a WR about 5-10 yards away to move the change. Again, while not the most talented QB, I do think he can and will be successful in this system with this team.

Seriously. This is what some fail to consider when talking about a few percentage points in the completion category.

We already know that Garrett does not have a system that anyone can step right in and produce. Romo made his "system". Prescott had a phenomenal rookie year, but then could not replicate success in the same system once teams geared up for how he behaved in that "system".

If you are looking to compare Prescott to Wentz/Foles, what we are really debating is the offense that each is in and their ability to execute.

Even Romo couldn't find success when Garrett's system was out of sync. In other words, when we don't have a bully O line and a historic run game, we're headed right towards 8 and 8.

Why did wentz only win 7 games before they stocked his cupboard with offensive weapons if he can fit in any system?

Zeke wasn’t available “most of the season”? Please explain that one, I must be confused, I thought he was only suspended for 6 games and there were 16 games in a season.

Are you saying Ajayi is a better RB than Zeke? If we are going to go off numbers alone, which many people do to support Dak, then I guess Ajayi is better.

Having a great O line isn’t a knock on Dak. I’ve said it 1,000 times, I like Dak and think he still may be a good QB but I have some very legitimate concerns about him after seeing what happens when he's faced with adversity and may not have all day to throw the ball or have one of the best RB’s in the league to take a lot of pressure off him.

You’re also greatly underestimating Foles IMO. I’m not saying he’s a Pro Bowler but he was a starter and is much better than the average QB. You act like you could plug any avg joe QB behind center for the Eagles and they would win every game. Pederson is innovative, no doubt, and the Iggles have some great players but the QB still has to be able to execute and make difficult passes at times. Dak struggles with the latter.

Yeah, I was completely shocked to see anyone think Smith is good.
Smith and Tyrod "I got benched for a UDFA who threw 5 picks in a half" Taylor are basically the same player, just different skin color. Check down Charlie west coast specialists. As a defense you relish the opportunity to bring your safeties closer to the LOS against these guys.

Romo couldn’t find success if it slapped him in the face, he would be able to find a way to screw it up though . Please stop with the Romo was god nonsense, he had his chances, it wasn’t all coaching. Also, 3 of those 8-8 years we lost the division in the final game so it’s not like we were that far away from the playoffs. The Skins, Gnats and Iggles all beat us and won the division at 9-7 IIRC.

I’m thinking it had more to do with him being both a rookie and the best offensive weapon. He had no star RB. He had no star WR.

Ok since you guys are so hung up on stats lets see how each teams current receivers faired last year..

Dallas
Hurns 484 yrds 2 td's
williams 568 yrds 0 td's
Beasley 314 yrds 4tds

Commanders
Richardson 703 yrds 6 td'd
Crowder 789 yrds 3 td'd
Doctson 502 yrds 6td's

Thats not even including Vernon Davis,Chris thompson,Or even Reed...So your claim is laughable
Crowder and Doctson are pretty good....they will get better this year. I also like Reed and Davis at TE. Heck that’s not bad.

Maybe because this is still a TEAM game. Doesn't take away from his talent level. It's ok to admit that other players on other teams have talent and maybe even more so than the ones on our team at the same position.

We have the 1st or 2nd best offense but 3rd or 4th best QB.

Put Manning, wentz, foles, or alex on this team and the offensive performance would be as good or better.

Dak would be ok with the philly offense but do you think Dak could handle the that porous offensive line? How would he perform calling plays in wash? We can only speculate but we saw what happens without a top 5 running back and 1 bad player on the offensive line.
