I have never been able to understand the lack of respect for Malik Davis

Because it's Malik Davis and because of all the jersey # swapping, I don't have his number memorized. So, I'm always like, "Who is this guy?" when he runs.

I see burst, vision and enthusiasm for the game. He does jump off the screen. That said, I can't attest for his pass-blocking/protection, ability to hold on to the ball, etc. I would love to see a guy who could actually challenge for RB1 be our RB2. I'm not convinced Malik Davis is that...or Blue for that matter.

Or any RB on this roster.

That's actually how I feel. We need an RB1...can't see Williams lasting the entire season at even 85%.
Yup. I love me some JW, but I think he needs to be more of a 200-250 carry guy. Leaning towards maybe 225 carries. However, need a big quick bruiser back to sub in.

Wasn't he an UDFA by Dallas? If this is right, the Cowboys didn't draft Romo, Pearson or Walls either. So why dies him being undrafted matter? Especially to this team
It matters because they used capitol on Blue and Mafah. They hate to use draft picks and not use the players. Not all that different than why they kept Mazi for so long, or Lance, or why Mingo and Schoon are still here and may very well make the team.

I woke up saying that bro, he deserves to be number 2 until somebody else wins it
Just like TE, we never understand how talented our RB2' until they are basically forced to play.

How long did Pollard sit, when we could have prolonged Zeke's career.

Jaydon Blue is just to small and skinny to be a NFL rb ....... he looks like a short wide receiver out there.

They don't want him because:
· He's not 23/24 years old
· Doesn't have the prototypical size
· They didn't draft him.
And yet he's hung around for 5 or so years at the bottom of the roster and practice squad.

That would indicate they have a firm grasp on his limitations that would be exposed on tape if he had to start or play extensive snaps for 3 or 4 consecutive games.
Hes a fringe NFL player with limited upside!

Malik Davis is going to be 28 at the end of November and has been in the league since 2022. He's destined for the practice squad again.

His steady RB2 presence has been excellent insurance regardless of whom has been the RB1 the last few seasons.

Davis got in the doghouse for speaking up about earning time & not getting it IIRC. The old regime held that against him for years. He has clearly shown himself to be worthy of a spot every time he's been given an opportunity.

Having said that, I suspect Blue will be #2 unless he implodes. He has the complimentary skillet that they want and I can understand why they want that.

Honestly I think Davis, Blue, Mafa & Abanikanda are probably all deserving of being on an NFL roster. Final roster decisions will be interesting.

Man, why would Blue be the #2? I haven't seen anything to point toward that.

You're not wrong. And he still might be our 2nd-best RB. I hope not. I was just trying to tell it like I think it is.

THIS. previous regimes have refused to put players in at a number of positions until forced to. we can only hope this staff actually bases roster positions & playing time on earning it.
