I don't see it. I just looked at dallas too. He had 1 year with a bad defense. Funny enough it was the year Parcells made him do a 3-4. Very next year after that top 10. Looks like he needs time to me.

One positive about Mike McCarthy. Before he came to the cowboys. They were one of the worst teams at forcing turnovers for decades. They were awful.

Since he came to Dallas they have been one of the best. Even changing DC’s from Quinn to Zimmer and they’re still forcing them.

I think there’s something to it. He clearly puts a focus on it. He talks about it constantly.

Clearly he talked about it at half time with the team.

Then sure enough Lewis gets the int and bland strips the ball. Cowboys likely lose without either of those plays.

Prime example of why he needs to go. A coach should bring in his own DC and not have Jerry pick it. Why on earth would you force him on Bill when Bill runs a 3-4?

He makes the DBs (and LBs?) spend almost as much time on the Jugs gun as the WRs. Even bought more machines for that when he got here.

That’s fine. I never once said he sucked lol. I can’t even tell you about his past stops in Cincy. Vikings had some good units. I’m just not a fan of what I’ve seen from this team. Aside from the last few weeks. Offense has looked solid too but I still want a new OC.

They just needed to get past the learning curve of the new scheme.....they stop the run, they lay the wood, they make plays on the ball. I want to see a second year with Zimm and a full cast of healthy players.

I still think Mike would mess this up. He's just too passive. As soon as he gets a team in 2nd and 16......he falls back into that Nickle zone.....giving up 12 easy yards......and it's 3rd and 5.....and we can't get off.

Oh, I agree, but it was blatant holding all game with no calls. A couple of replays even showed it and the announcers didn't say a word about it.

Maybe just maybe having number 11 makes a difference. People are ridiculous in game threads sometimes.... just because Micah doesn't have sacks on every single play in games. Micah parsons leads the league in pressures when he's on the field, despite being double teamed. How fans can't see how he makes a defense better is just ridiculous. He makes the whole defense better but because he has a podcast people hate him.

I didn’t know that tidbit. But it doesn’t shock me.

Redball ignored turnovers and had the team (including the defense) playing scared and conservative for years. At least Mike has them playing with some balls.

I don’t know what PFF says but he’s been playing much better football of late. This is the Wilson that got paid. I don’t know that other Wilson who was passive and not making big hits.

I think we expected this defense to be able to come out of the gate firing when it often takes a while for players to adapt to a new system. Then, on top of that, we were trying to adapt while key starters were missing time. Now, we're even overcoming missing players like Overshown and with Kendricks even sitting out.
