I said WHEN will it be time...not that I'm ready to hit it right now, right this second. Read the entire post beforehand. The problem with this team is consistency, always has been, always will be until someone figures out how to get this team to play consistent.
You shouldn't even be bringing it up in week 3.

when is will it be time to hit the PANIC button? I'm not ready to call a season but from what I've seen so far I'm not hopeful. I'm just so annoyed with how this team regurlarly plays inconsistent ball. I've yet to see a game that both sides of the ball play up to snuff. So far ST has been the better unit of this team and that helps but 1 for 3 doesn't win games.

I fell into the trap of thinking this team had changed it around in the offseason by jettisoning the "problem" players. If this team plays a good, mistake-free game Monday then there is hope...otherwise I think we might be looking at a long season.

Seems to me like this team has picked up where they left off from last season and we know how that turned out...discuss...

While there play from last Sunday night was horrid in certain areas,it wasn't a total loss.Overall the offense is ranked rather highly and the special teams seem to be better through 2 games.Penalties are down through 2 games, hopefully that will become a long term trend.

Now the bad news is that the defense has yet to register a sack or a turnover and Romo seemed to regress to "Turnover Tony" once again. What makes the regressions so bad is that this defense vowed to put an emphasis on creating turnovers and pressure. In addition to that Romo was preaching ball security and better decision making in the off season.

It's still early in the season and hopefully they will get it turned around. However it does concern me that this team has a propensity for making the same mistakes. Now this team has a long way to go before the playoffs start,so there is time to correct the mistakes that have been made in the first 2 weeks.

With all things considered I'm going to wait until I see consistant play on a regular basis before annointing Romo a franchise quarterback(even though he's paid like one) or saying this defense is the reincarnation of the vaunted Doomsday Defense.I believe this year will be very pivotal for this team and for certain members of this team(staff and players). Will this team respond after Sunday night and go on a tear or will they win a couple only to implode again.I'm looking forward to see where this team is at in November.

Well I'm still mad that here we are into the 09 season and we are making the same boneheaded mistakes from last year after players and coaches promised changes. The only thing that has lived up to their end of the bargain is ST.

Our schedule in Dec is NO JOKE - and we aren't living up to our mantra of "DOING THINGS EXACTLY RIGHT" are we?

The team making the same mistakes over and over are so aggravating.

ive seen plenty of change.....defense is work in progress...ST has seen major improvements, more versatility in the offense less predictable.....less penalties, more team atmosphere, and more accountability...and Wade seems to be more demanding.......as the season goes on those things will make a difference

I really hope so, I'm not giving up on this team and even if they don't have a chance to make it to the playoffs again I'm still watching and recording every game. I just tired of seeing the same team playing inconsistent ball on a yearly basis now.

This MNF game will be a huge test for everyone and how they can bounce back.

The same mistakes? I think not. This team has drastically cut down on their penalties. We're not forcing the ball anymore. The run blocking is awesome. Special teams has done a 180.

Romo had a bad game, it happens. And the defense has some glitches to sort out, but it's only week two. Enough now.

Flozell's penalty that wiped out MA's catch. We don't have as many penalties per game but the crucial ones that kill drives are still there.

Out route to PC that resulted in a pick six, Romo tried to sqeeze that one and underthrew it. Deep ball to Hurd that resulted in a pick, instead of being conservative when we had a 4pt lead we go for the bomb.

You're not giving up on the team, but you're looking for a panic button? Got it. Kudos for being sensible about it, though.

I said WHEN will it be time to look for it...I'm just not convinced after the first two games this team has what it takes. Especially when the HC/DC touts his D in the offseason and they peform like they do. We lost eight guys on the D, I understand we are going to have some growing pains, but against the Bucs? A team that ran it down our throats and passed it all over us? Then the Giants debacle...won't go into specifics but that was the same team out their that underperformed just like the Ravens game of last yr.

I am so torn. On one hand there is no good reason for this thread and I should close it or remove it. On the other hand, doing so is considered to be in poor taste or quashing opinions.

What a waste of synapses to even have these thoughts.

You can go ahead and close it, I am just angry that this team underperforms, makes the same mistakes, and expects to be a contender every yr with the same play yr after yr.

I said it before if I'm wrong I will gladly eat my crow and say I'm wrong - in fact I hope this is the case but after two games it's tough seeing the same ol crap.

Before the thread is closed, could you answer whether your panic button was pressed after: a) Week 2, b) Week 1, c) Preseason, d) Draft or e) The final game of '08 season?

I'm with you kid. I'm going to change teams because the Cowboys have not won anything yet!

I'm going to become a Commander fan!

Hell yeah...that's the ticket!

Haven't pressed it yet, but the protective cover is off the button.
