how many of yall knew whwn we first signed Romo, that he would be special....Did you believe he would be special or just another clint Stoerner

What about miles austin...did you say I know I know after you first saw him play or did you think we had a light skinned randall williams....

Me personally I thought that Romo would get cut, but AFter Cocaine Quincy got cut, and After Romo`s preseason game against Oakland..I felt we had somehting.

Miles..I was sold after his catches against green bay...i saw all the tools, and I was never a big fan of Sam Hurd, and I thought he was going to show up because of the injuries to miles....but he laid an egg (except on Special teams)....

What about you

The only person I remember saying that Tony Romo could be a player special player among posters, the media and the Coaching Staff at the time was Babe Laufenberg.

I believe most people felt Drew Henson was going to be the player Tony Romo turned out to be.

That describes me. I am man enough to admit it.

I had a feeling Romo would be good. I felt the same about Jay Ratliff. I thought Austin was just another player until this past offseason.

Parcells said it, I think in Tony's 2nd year. It was a throwaway comment after a game, but it got my attention about Tony.

Yep. I was convinced Henson was the future. Especially after the Ravens game. It's funny how things work out, but at least we got our franchise qb. Ultimately that's all that matters.

I have you beat.

After 2004, I wanted to get rid of Romo and Henson and draft a QB in the 1st Round.

I remember posting a picture of a crowded Freeway, saying this is the road most teams take to get a Quarterback and then posting a picture of a dirt road and saying this is the road Jerry Jones takes to get a Quarterback.

People make predictions on this board all the time, that is what this board is about.

However, you have to understand you were wrong and also be right more times than wrong :) .

there's no way of knowing with these "raw talent" guys. I remember being very hopeful for Austin the last couple of years, but I felt that way about Brazzell too!

my then teenage son saw the greatness of Romo during preseason of his rookie year

As an undrafted FA? None what so ever I looked at him as a career backup. For me it was not until I saw him in the 06 season when he took over for Bledsoe under real game conditions that I began to believe in Romo.

As for Miles I felt he had the ability to be a good WR but injuries seemed to keep him out, as for having a season like he is having did not see that at all.

:hammer:

Shortly after the 2003 draft, I read where Parcells recruited Romo as an UDFA by saying he had a chance to start someday. I thought then that maybe this was not a scrub.

After the 2004 or 2005 preseason, my Commander fan neighbor said we really had something in Romo.

I had no clue about Romo, even when Babe and King were talking him up I did not believe. As soon as he replaced Bledsoe, it was hard not to believe though.

Should have suspected how good he could be when Sean Payton tried to trade for him when he was hired at NO. This was before they signed Brees.

I saw Tony play the entire preseason game up here in Seattle and was floored by him. I wanted Tuna to can Bledsoe right there.

I figure it out during the preseason of the year he became the starter. The whole time I wanted Tuna to bench Bledsoe for him, and when he finally did, I was shocked that many thought it was a bad idea. I was also shocked that people thought he played badly in the Giants game. Yeah, he threw a bunch of picks, but our offense came alive when he stepped in.

I was 100% excited about him then and now, and I think the only time I really got down on Romo during his career was after this years Giants game when he threw three picks. I said, Well, I guess this is the best we'll ever get from Romo. He's like a rich man's Rex Grossman. Thankfully, Romo matured, and I forgot all about that.

Romo was definitely going to be cut, at that point its likely he would have ended up in Denver with Shanahan. We got so lucky that bonehead Carter screwed up.

Same here. I've posted this a few times. I remember how pissed I was they were starting him over Henson............by halftime I didn't want to ever see Henson or Bledsoe again.

It was by far the single most unexpected surprise I can remember as a Cowboy fan. I couldn't believe what I was seeing..........thought he was the next Montana. Still do.
