We don't always like the rules we have to enforce. I know that I and many of the staff are not easily offended by a lot of things. Everyone thinks because we keep this site "family friendly" that we're all G-rated people and that's definitely not the case. We keep the site family friendly because most of the rest of the internet that involves user discussions is not, and that means that sometimes we have to keep things off the site we really wish we could leave up.

Thanks for the further clarification, Reality.

The reason you will see me or the staff clean up some threads and say to keep the chit-chat out of them is because for a lot of users, once a thread gets taken over by mundane chit-chat comments, they stop reading and as a result, stop posting in those threads. So a few one-liners by an innocently intentioned small number of users can ultimately kill what was a great, useful or informative thread. That's why you will see me or one of the staff delete a lot of posts and post a "keep this thread on-topic!" messages. It's not about being mad or irritated at the users posting chit-chat messages, but rather just helping a good thread get back and remain on-topic.

Trust me I get it..... I also work as a Sysop, Admin, and Coder of some different kind of sites.... Different set of rules, but have to watch out for things that can get the sites shut down. Couldn't imagine trying to moderate such a huge fanbase like the Cowboys after 22 years of waiting for another SB. Hopefully most can be chalked up to passion for the team with some understanding going both ways.....

I can get a complaint from a user one day complaining that CowboysZone is too homer friendly and then the next day I get a complaint from another user saying the site is too negative and unfriendly toward "true fans". Lord knows, just keeping the site running is a chore sometimes. Nothing like a PO'ed user DDOSing you and crippling the site to a crawl for mundane stuff. I really have been working with SQL lately to patch a lot of problems with old bbcode and tbdev. Runs so much faster with less ram but everything has vulnerabilities. Trust me, would love to go back to Modding somedays.... lol

Ya know? I kinda like this house,all the amenities, public library,bar,good school's & relatively low crime rate,,,personally I'd rather fort up out in the boonies alone, but ,for a community? This is as good or better than some I've tooled thru while traveling ,I've gotten a couple of moderator p.m. warnings in the past and kinda chilled out after the yellow flag warning !
At this current time, there ain't nobody cutting loose anyway,,, reckon I'll stand me post for awhile here,bro!

Edema real bad. Wearing compression socks to keep the swelling down but still looks like a football. Bones are in place and fine, but just can't seem to catch a break with this swelling ordeal. Poo happens I guess.... lol
