1) Because it was created and active during an historic season where we were all on this site a lot and boozing, and gleaming about our latest win.

2) The openness of the thread. Everyone felt safe in there. We talked about everything and had many a late night discussing everything under the moon. The site "features" were an added bonus but never a draw (for me, at least).

I want to point this out. Just for myself. That thread took on a life of its own through no ones fault. It just happened.

But alas, we have our new beaut. This thread may slow down during the offseason, but baby, it will pick right back up when August comes around.

It thrived due to you and a few of the same posters keeping it alive and it was locked for abusing a system. You and the others should have known eventually everyone would catch on and the hammer would come down. This thread has taken on a life of it's own and is no different than the original beer thread but it can't be used to enhance anyones reputation, therefore it won't get near the activity the original thread received.

The original beer thread was averaging 40 pages a week and this thread is on pace for 30 pages a week so the chit chat has noticeably slowed down. I have no issue and I'm sure most don't with posters creating a thread just to hang out and shoot the bull providing the chat is within the rules. The only issue anyone had with the original thread was watching a system be horribly abused by several posters which got it shutdown. A little common sense would have prevented it. Not trying to stir anything up just giving my take on the recent comments that were made. It's not hard to see through some of what goes on here but some try and insult the intelligence of everyone.

Seeing this thread is about chit chat and fun here's a joke. There was a guy struggling to stay afloat in the ocean when a boat came by and asked if he needed any help. The guy said "no, I'm fine I have faith in God so go away" so the boat went away. A few minutes later a helicopter hovered over and someone yelled down and asked the guy if he needed any help. He yelled back "no, I'm fine I have faith in God so go away" so the helicopter went away. The guy ended up drowning and when he went to heaven and saw God, he said "what the heck happened I had faith in you?!" God said " I sent you a boat and a helicopter."

I think you're still gonna DJ some night where we do some themes. Maybe one hour for old country, one hour for metal, one hour for 80s rock, etc, etc. Let's do it sometime.

I would love that! I know all the genres so it would be my pleasure. When left to my own devices, JC, I usually go to contemporary underground electronic, which is very niche and not what us beer guzzlers like as an aggregate :laugh: I'm sure you've seen it, JC :D

Reality is very fair, and always has been, so maybe I'm being a little doomsday in that proclamation :)
 
I swear to gosh, I had a dream that there was a "beer cheers" emoji lol

The glass was red with foam on top, and it was similar to the "thumbs up" emoji

It's not underground electronic, but have you ever seen the movie "We Were Friends"?
Certainly not award caliber I had low expectations, so it was fun. You might like the music and Emily Ratajkowksi is soooo fine.
