While true, you can only throw the ball to one of them on any given play.

Overall, a pretty darn good top 10 (or 11), when you look at most drafts, they are absolute trainwrecks.

GMs and scouts must be getting better at their jobs.

Perhaps, but was it Tex Schramm who once said that "WR are a dime a dozen"? I remember someone prominent in the Cowboys organization used to say that a couple decades ago.

Now, I'm NOT trying to belittle Edwards, he's developing into an excellent WR.

But CONSISTENT double digit sack guys? You can spend a decade trying to get just ONE of those guys.

True. How many first picks did we spend on DE trying to replace Haley? It was about a decade before we got Ware. Players like Ware don't come along that often.

Ware might be the best defensive player in the league, I'm sure there could be a pretty good argument for him at least. Edwards is a good player, and one that I really liked that year, however there are probably not many who'd say he was the best offensive player in the league.

Rodgers (Rogers?) is decent and I think he could still turn the corner and be a fine player, the same about Alex Smith, he had a solid year with Norv as OC so there has to be some talent there, maybe the right coach could bring it out. The jury is still out on Pacman, if he plays like he did the year before he was suspended, he'll be a fine player in this league too.

With that said.... none of them compare to what we got in Ware, there is no doubt in my mind that he ended up as the best player out of that draft. Best thing BP ever did here was saying he was turning Ware into a complete LBer (sorry I don't remember the quote off the top of my head.)

me'n either, but I remember a part of it was that he only wanted Ware rushing 30% of the time

I have an idea for PART IV. Don't want to give it away, but it starts with Q getting cut because of a failed drug test.
I'll leave the rest to you.

That was the second time that fate smiled on us with Romo.

The first time was when Delhomme was a FA in 2003. We wanted him, but Carolina was willing to offer him a bit more. If he'd agreed to our offer, we would not have been as aggressive in going after Romo, who most likely would have signed with the Broncos.

In the near future, there will probably have to be a Part VI for Romo. Fate smiled on us twice with him.

This is definitely one of them.

Maybe I should go ahead and do all of them as I originally planned.

I was going to suggest that. Put them out there and let us read and discuss.
